Blondie (Debra Harry) was an original member of the Punk/New Wave movement at CBGBs in NYC.

She was ostracized by the other bands (The Ramones, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Television, The New York Dolls, others) because she was the first female "front man".

And those guys were really pissed off when she released a disco album (from which many of her best work emerged, as well as making her a popular regular at Studio 54).
