I must be missing something very obvious.
I was SO EXCITED about the PaperMaker.
Today, I bought mine, and wanted to try it out immediately. Just something simple.
Water (the FIRST tribulation to find until I remembered the TownCrier's break room served water), Bark, a silver wand... all the steps mentioned in the analyze.
But then it said I was going to create a textured plain letter.
PLAIN?! That's not happy.
I figure it maybe needs some color there? So I buy a dye at the dyer's tent.
Won't work.
Remembering there was some way to convert a dye (because we can't have all dyes being equal and stuff), I had the clerk CONVERT BOTTLE.
So now the error message has changed, but it still does not work.
How many kinds of dye are there? I double checked the shop where these were sold, there's no special dye in there. there's no mention in the analyze that it needs to be special.
is this bugged?
And ... how do I get rid of the "plain" part? Because for all I know, "plain" has nothing to do with the dye to begin with. That was just my guess at the time.
Play and find out is ... not why I spend my money. Just sayin'.

I checked out shops and analyzed those, I think before you posted this (so no recent analyze change).
It mentions alchemy and cobbling shop friendly for the dyes!
Dyer's wagon is really old and I'd think that won't be compatible anytime soon.

You can take your dyer's tent dye to the cobbler and have them convert it IIRC.

What do you see when you look at and glance at the mechanism once you (think) you have it setup how you want it to make?

Glancing at a dappled navy blue mechanism, you notice that there is enough bark pulp to
create 3 pieces of writing paper. Based on the current settings, you will create a

Did some experimenting... Plain seems to be the default if there's no color. Dyes from the cobbling warehouses work (see the wiki under cobbling for locations). Converted dyes from the dye tent does not (but probably should?). I did not figure out a way to further convert the dye from the dye tents other than with the clerk.

Annnd, Miss Thandiwe has fixed it, and once you ORDER BOTTLE for any of the dyer's tent dyes, it will now work in the PaperMaker!

Excellent, thank you Thandiwe for the fix.
I agree, plain is a great option, but I'm not thrilled with it being the default if there's no dye. Having nothing there, or splitting the article/adjective for the 15s if there's nothing there, would be great.
