What the heck is this? 07/01/2018 12:47 AM CDT
A friend of mine found an item in a box: "a petrified wizard hand". We have no clue what it is or does.

It doesn't register as magical with 405.
Holding it doesn't enhance any skill/stat.
Loresinging is unhelpful.
It does register as magical as the Inn crystal, but only in reverse. I.E. holding it in the right hand but not the left.
The pawnshop appraises it at ... 14 million?

When my wizard waves it at a critter, the item itself attempts to animate. With 40 ranks of MIU, my wizard has a -25 on the activation roll. Basically,
no chance whatsoever, barring a very lucky open roll. We really want to know what this thing is about.

I found one for sale in a player shop. The sign in the shop reads "petrified hands can be waved at people to harass them".

Starchitin, the OG

A severed gnomish hand crawls in on its fingertips and makes a rude gesture before quickly decaying and rotting into dust. A gust of wind quickly scatters the dust.

Those are limbs blown off by Limb Disrupt, preserved with dust that can be made by Sorcerers with Alchemy -- you can WAVE them for an effect similar to a singular Grasp of the Grave, where they animate and attack someone for a moment.

It's funny if you don't have Necromancy lore however, because they'll turn on you and attack you... heh.
