Wooo boy, I can tell you learned that lesson first hand from me. Now the real trick is to apply it to people who are bigger than you. That's how you'll earn respect. Punking traders is only a notch above Empaths - barely however in your case, I noticed you seem to have trouble with Empaths so when in doubt step down the ladder a rung and take out the next easiest target.

A couple of things
1) being a Rippentrop has nothing to do with what happened unless that is your reasoning for harrassing Martyka
2) Martyka isn't high enough circle to evict you from the market tent
the lessons you state in your post #3147 you should take heed of yourself..

I do not think you have to be a member of any particular group to be the kind of person that only fights with backup. I do not know if that is what he did or not, just a fact. For instance, people never usually bother me, but yesterday some guy started attacking (I don't know policy really, but I don't think he had consent, whatever though). He got attacked by someone else and mentioned reporting him. Funny. But after he had failed to attack twice, I went ahead and killed him, and immediately he had two friends attacking me and a couple more circling around. Five on one, really? Then one of those friends called me the coward for not fighting while his friends were waiting to pounce. Some people, sheesh. I think they got bored and left though without ever killing me, and I don't really have a reason to keep it going. Other than their moon mage continuing to locate me today, they haven't come back. For future reference, how do we beat Aether Cloak if they're not sharing harness? Just fry nerves and wait?

"A" weapon isn't good enough. Train a Ranged weapon. X-bow or thrown since shield is preferable (read usefull) against magic.

To be fair, the ven diagrams describing SCers, ISTMers and Rippentropps overlap a lot. That isn't exactly a coincidence.

Well, yes, the Rippentropp family consists of a bunch of people that happen to be friends with each other IC and OOC. As such, we also happen to hang out in the same places.
But the number of Rippentropps there are doesn't even come close to beating out how many people come hang out in IRC on a given day, much less how many people read and post on SC.
There's overlap, but if you think SCer == ISTMer == Rippentropp, you're sorely mistaken.

I've actually only seen you a few times IG. I certainly hear your name a lot, but I really have only come across Stolas 4 or 5 times ever and that is usually when i'm down in Shard.
My point was just to not assume everyone that may not like Stolas is a Rippentropp. Pretty simple. I only bring that up, because you threw the name around today and didn't even deal with any. I wasn't trying to throw myself into the ring with you so you don't need to start with the quips.
For the record though Kolaisa is hardly needed to defend some Rippentropps if it ever did actually come down to that. I can't really tell you why he is doing whatever he is other than I know you two have a history of conflict.

Yup. But people like to generalize. So what can you do? Correct them every time they make the mistake I guess.
