Something that there is no policy for and I wish there was is when I collect a pile of something for the purpose of using the collected material and someone goes and kicks it into a pile of dust because they used KICK PILE instead of KICK <specific material>.

Maybe collected piles could be made to appear in the inventory slot at your feet. This would also solve the problem of people littering the room with piles and not kicking them.

Pretty sure if you warn someone not to kick your piles that your using, and make it very clear that they are destroying something you are trying to use, you can just shoot them in the face. Elsewise, move to another location, maybe?

Most the time I've told this to people, they were AFK/Scripting (or just ignoring me), or they told me something along the lines of, "don't tell me what to do." In my own experience only about 1 in every 15 times did someone actually stop doing this and then I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence that the just finished anyway.

LOL. No truly, I did just laugh out loud. You think that there should be a policy around people kicking a pile you have collected? Really? REALLY? I don't know where to start so I won't. I'll just say that if you think this is a bigger issue than AFK scripting then you are not getting out enough. Move to another less populated location and collect stuff. There are only about 1000+ places you could go to do that.

Or they dodge and shoot you in the face. You'll stop not letting me kick your pile when you're dead. Just saying. I don't know for sure but I don't think kicking your pile is consent. I could be wrong though.

Which is why I mentioned, like two posts ago in this very thread, that you inform them multiple times they are destroying something you are attempting to make use of. At that point, pretty sure your clear. And, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Taking the shot and failing is better than asking for a policy change so a GM can hold your hand while you collect sticks.
I'd rather handle things in character and fail, maybe learn a lesson, earn a rival to better sometime down the road, than have a GM handle things OOCly. We are the sum of our experiences, good and bad, and there is nothing wrong with losing a fight as long as you can draw the line between character and player. Have fun! It's a game.

I respect that but collecting items in a crowded room...what collected items are yours? What are others? Should they use "rocks" instead of "pile"? Sure, but that's mechanics not policy. My point is that if game mechanics are causing you problems that can easily be solved by moving to another room, compared to creating a policy, then the solution is...moving to another room.
I'm sympathetic to a degree, but I'm not seeing how there isn't an easier solution than advocating for a policy change.
Oh, if a person "warned" me about kicking their stuff I would normally adjust. However, catch me in the right mood in-game, after warning me and I don't stop, they attack me over a pile of rocks, well I will respond. Most likely the response will be putting two arrows and five throwing blades in their body within three seconds. Just saying.

So basically, you are saying you discourage the application of PvP in an actual in character manner, and don't suggest anyone try and resolve their own problems, but instead just run from them?
Also, on the whole changing policy change, I very clearly stated I am against that as a whole, and suggested multiple other paths of action. I'm not sure who you're arguing with, there.
