mana pools are useless as is...an artifact of the past.

any way we could maybe harness these for invasion use? with enough ranks in mana control or something?

I've always liked the idea of having a mana battery like thing at super nodes like tsc or the dais. If you have extra mana to dump in it while draining it, leave the mana there for the next poor soul that needs some after the spell up to go out. Maybe

send 100 mana-orb # to add to the battery

get 60 mana-orb # to withdraw

would be nice, especially for young pures that bleed mana

or maybe using "circles" of people linked together. if anyone's read the Wheel of Time series recall the scene where Egwene links with all the novices and is safely able to tap into their "power" while they remain out of harms way. mana control could be required by both parties.
