All semantics aside, bottom line is that 714 is far too complicated and is also far more complicated than 517. This is a problem. Can we all admit, and work on fixing the problem?

Players clamored for more spells with material components for 15 years before 714 was released. Things to use all those useless smooth stones and table legs and rusty doorknobs on (after a few years, warriors found they could bash boxes with them, but they don't count).* Then, sometime around when GS4 was released, 714 and 740 were also released. It was an inside joke that smooth stones became a component for 714. They had been the scapegoat of complaints that I wish these boards had saved, but they probably predated the move to the web. Despite the introduction of new spells with material components for sorcerers, clerics never found a use for table legs, or rangers for rusty doorknobs. So sorcerers got a raw deal. But this was all being discovered during post-GS4 growing pains, when they were too busy leaving the game to notice.
I wish more spells had material components, but 714 probably has a few too many.
* Also, dropping dozens of weapons and armor into the room before casting 720 doesn't count as a material component. This was, however, debated.

<So sorcerers got a raw deal.>
Ain't that the truth....
Items my sorcerer has on him or in his locker for spells: book, 2 types of chalk, mortar, pestle, many runestones, salts, vials, moonflowers, ink, water, brush, tome....
Items my empath, ranger, and cleric have for their spells: not one thing
I was gearing up to pitch a fit about more components when 735 was released only to be pleasantly surprised by the lack of them.

No potions for the ranger to embue armors, or chrism gems for the clerics?
But. . yeah, those empaths!

The ranger has never messed around with imbue and the cleric doesn't have the training for chrisms and even once he does I don't have the patience to be figuring out which gems are orbs and which aren't... get a chrism holder if you want him to use one.

The potions for ranger 620 are fairly simple and straightforward. It's time consuming unless you're in platinum and can visit every herbalist in the game within a couple of minutes, but if you have or know a ranger that can add 80%+ reduction of an element it's pretty darn fantastic and lasts a really long time.
Foraging grass and sticks for ranger imbue is really easy too. Again, a little time consuming, but very simple and easy. Forage, cast, cast, done most of the time.
714 has significant opportunities in regards to improvement if the goal is to make it more intuitive and player friendly.

Not disputing improvements. Even mentioned a few myself.
Just do not accept the 'but NOTHING ELSE' histrionics we use to try to motivate change. It's easy enough to just ask.

Now you're just being evasive. I guess the plethora of massively experienced sorcerer players posting here are wrong? Or have I completely misapprehended your point of view? If so, maybe you're not communicating very well.

Please make scroll infusion and animate dead easier to use. All the items are annoying, and cumbersome. I don’t have ocd or autism. I don’t find the tedium of micro managing my paintbrush and et al., interesting.
Please simplify
