I was wondering, is there any reason why the bolt version of moon beam cannot be channeled? If not would it be possible to add that ability? I do like the spell, and I'm trying to play with it to get the most out of it I can.

This should be possible now. INCANT SET EVOKE 611 and INCANT SET CHANNEL 611 with a standard incant, or INCANT 611 CHANNEL EVOKE for a one-off should do the trick.
