> Please bring this back even if it's just old stuff

I do hope people realize he asked if we'd prefer it come back as is or with new items. He did NOT ask us if we'd rather it come back as is or not see it come back in any form at all. 90% of the responses seem to proceed as though the question was the latter, not the former. I understand the reason for that is because of how the original announcement about Summit Academy was phrased, but it's not the current question (as I understand it anyway).

Just to restate, it sounds like the tradeoff with having new stuff is, we need to take out at least some old stuff to make room for new stuff. It's a database limitation question (or some such).

It's always hard to say we want new stuff when we don't know what the new stuff is. However, you guys have done a great job at creating new, interesting things (whether mechanical or cosmetic). So in that vein, it'd be great for Summit to come back with new stuff.

But there's one contextual question that would help a lot here...

What are the likely timeframes for an identical return vs. a refresh return. I KNOW the Academy could return tomorrow as is. But it's not likely to. And I have to assume February is already planned so it's not likely to come back then either. So...

->In the context of your plans, when might the Academy return if it's refreshed and when might it return if it's just a rerun?

I haven't had the impression people were desperate for the Academy to return immediately but more that they might not ever see it again (the original announcement was a bit ambiguous on that point).

If the Academy were to return in the same time frame of each other, regardless or old or new items, then that might lead to more interest in a refresh. But if it were a year's difference (for example), then I think most of us would vote "just return it as is".

I WOULD also say, though the puzzles are fun, I wouldn't worry about that right now since it sounds like that would delay the appearance. For anyone who doesn't remember what the puzzles were (I know I'm going out on a limb here, but I bet that's most people) there are spoilers, true. But you don't have to look at them and trying to stay ahead of spoilers is a losing game in the end anyway. If GM time weren't so constrained, I might look at this differently because it is always fun. But you guys put so much creative energy in already I think this one can live off the past efforts just fine.

My thoughts anyway.

I believe I saw someone mention this already in this topic but feel it's worth bringing up again.

A new addition that I would also love to see at Summit Academy is a port over of the Wavedancer marriage option (and verbs). Since the WD is never coming back.. and those are fairly popular verb sets.. this seems like a really ideal location for the verbs at least to return for those who weren't able to take advantage of them 10+ years ago.

Three thumbs up. I'd love to see these become available in some venue, again. Really excellent verb set.
