I rather like the wooden breastplate and full plate I have. Those armors can make sense to me, I held back from making anything in the chain category since...links of wood wasn't something I could justify to myself.

Hunting in the cold slopes of Pinefar I didn't want my warrior to be wearing metal armor. I went ahead and made 'a muscle-carved laminated wood cuirass'.

I didnt notice any difficulty when enchanting wood though I didn't try a weapon so I don't know why you could only take it to 3x.

I was told by one GM not to try to enchant my silver bow any higher than the 4xs I took it to because they said it would be harder and I might lose it. I got confused as I took two of them to 4xs without one hiccup.

Now I want to go experiment with wooden items.

Silver is another one of those materials you don't want to really risk enchanting, like stone, ruby, obsidian, etc.
