>And by massive, he means 50%.
If someone casts it on you when you aren't expecting to have it, its far worse than 50%. I'll lose 85-95% (depending on lock size) if I have lore on when I think I don't, because I'll have the wrong pick too.
e.g. for locks a bit over 1000, golvern without lore gives me 250, the closest match I'd have with lore would be my degraded invar which would give me about 65, golvern with lore gives me 12. Thats a loss of 238/250 for having lore cast on me if I didn't notice and stop it in time.

>I'm late chiming in, but the reason there aren't more skilled locksmiths about is much more the lack of work than the lack of experience. I spend HOURS sitting around the east tower bored out of my head.
I don't. I gave up public picking in the East Tower a few weeks after Deadfalls went away and there was nowhere to go to hunt and pick up a box or two to entertain myself with when I got back.

Exp isn't capped at 150 for picking like it is for hunting? Nifty.

>Right, the rogue wouldn't be AFK, just the person handing him boxes. You'd walk in and start the script and it would hand him boxes and empty them until you were out of boxes. Maybe there is something like this already?
Uh... correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's currently against policy to be AFK and getting the town smith to open your boxes.
You're allowed to script it, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be at the keyboard and responsive if you're using any of your scripts to do anything that has some benefit like this.

The normal range goes to 150. There's a 100 point bonus available for uphunting your picks sufficiently into the breakage zone. If you are good enough, it can be worth going for at some lock sizes, but you probably need to be the sort of smith that has 25 different picks to select from according to how the calipers read over multiple measurements on each box in order to get it regularly.

Well I could have waited until summer, but instead I decided to just push this out now. :)
The SERVICE verb will now show all players that are in a realm you could reach with a gold ring.

Cool Konacon!
Did y'all consider making a kind of local / extended toggle? I had considered to request something like this update, but I wondered if the flood is too much information?
Maybe there's no point at all. I like the default being as it is now, and I think the one at login should be the large range one.
Not sure if there's a reason I'm requesting a feature I wouldn't actually use myself...hmm...
The deathbot will come back eventually.

PS: ESP system 'local' channel is being considered as well?

I'd rather keep local and then add realm, on by default, that'll hit anywhere a gold ring does.
95% of my use of amulets is to say "going for <body>" "empath around?" and to coordinate invasion stuff. None of that chatter really needs to be cross-town, but I'd like to be able to think to people in the other towns without having to deal with the cruft of worrying about who's opted into global.

Just yet, no. But we haven't seen Phase II and what it may bring to 225, 130, 740, 930, etc.
