How do children get into the Confluence? 01/21/2016 03:38 PM CST
Players need to be level 80 and have a soulstone with at least 9.5 powerful souls.

I understand that the children become lost and tormented once they get there, but besides the annoyance of these bounties, it just doesn't make any logical sense to me.

They don't allow child bounties in OTF. I could definitely see an argument for not allowing them in the Rift/Scatter/Confluence.

Not sure about Nelemar. That's only a body of water, not a tear in the fabric of reality.

Not allowed in Rift/Scatter either

Yeah, then it definitely doesn't fit in the confluence.

Yeah, I knew this when I made my post.

I mean, one could try to make arguments about some swimming/climbing/etc required to get into certain hunting areas, but I dunno, I can believe a child raised around RR might know how to swim across Maelstrom Bay, but probably not that they found a soulstone in daddy's sock drawer...

The explanation of this is actually already in the guard's speech when he fills you in on the details of the task (and has always been). For certain areas (like the Confluence or the Broken Lands), the children that get there are abducted, rather than run away. Elementals can enter and leave the Confluence, so they are able enter Elanthia to snatch children away if they so desire. In some places (like OTF or the Rift), the inhabitants are trapped there by wards or other magic that hinder both entering and leaving the area, so children can neither be snatched away nor enter on their own -- these areas don't have child tasks at all.

That actually makes sense. Maybe I should learn to read!

I still don't like the tasks but I'm glad to hear there's some explanation for that.

Agreed. Those tasks do seem pretty annoying, though.
