Do it for the children! 03/26/2011 09:03 AM CDT
There have been some recent posts on the subject of triton executioner ambushes and Adventurer Guild child rescues already but I wanted to chime in on this as well. The triton executioners ambush attacks do seem very heavily weighted towards ambushing the child vs. the person leading the escort and, more to the point, it seems like this is a recent change. I've heard several other folks comment about this around town as well. Would someone would be willing to take a look and confirm that executioner ambushes (when children are present) are working as designed or if possibly there is something amiss that could be corrected?

Thanks!

As someone hunting it since its opened I would say its always worked that way with executioners killing many kids ( must be a fetish ). Hence a task I wouldn't complete easily and turn down more often than not.

If that is correctable it would serve to make it much much easier ( until someones last bandit pops out and kills your child when ur "in the clear!" )

Hence, let the children die!

Are you over 10% of children deaths?

And do you have good perception?

I have good perception for a wizard (101 ranks) and I believe the executioners have ambushed 5 of my last 6 children or thereabouts.

Yep, that's a bit high. Ugh.

If the Temple's busy, there's more of those blasted things. Move and immediate search can sometimes help, but I'm not sure if 1x perception will be enough to help.

But -- if the Temple's busy, you might see if you can ask someone hunting there to clear you a path. . .

In my opinion this would increase the likelihood of loosing the child.

The only thing you can do is to move room to room ASAP; don't stop for anything. And only hunt in the hallways to the far east/west sides of the temple.

I've done about 500 child tasks in Nelemar, and only lost about 30 children using that strategy. I do not take child tasks from the second floor however.

Well, haste does help a bit -- I guess. It works well for me, I've dropped from 10% to less than 2% loss that way, and it seems all you need to do is point it out -- not even attack it.

But -- I agree with the hunting location. :)

Well for those of us not sporting post-cap wizard haste, searching would probably lead to more deaths. ;)

Maybe. One run should tell. I'll give it a shot without and let you know. :)
