I'm not sure exactly how the game decides which non-standard movements break groups and which do not, but if the climb into the Bog and especially the passage through the mud could be updated to keep groups together, it'd be really nice. Grabbing hands is always annoying, and re-casting spells like Benediction gets expensive.

Definitely the mud part should keep you together, particularly if everyone has waterwalking. Then a group can wander the whole area a lot better. If the entrance is still as-is, it's mostly okay as you can just cast your 307/310 in the first room when first arriving.

This kind of stuff is definitely an annoyance.

The designers of this stuff should be drug out onto the street and executed. :P

(Note there are no replies to my similar complaint about the boulder in the centaurs. My wizard kept losing Kai's Triumph from my wife's bard. The worst thing is you can't even see when someone enters the room after the boulder so you're just spamming join/hold even when, in the same physical room in our house, we agree to "pass the boulder" I'd still lose Kai's quite regularly.)

Discovered accidentally this morning that if you're in a group of two and the non-leader climbs the gully first, then the group stays together.

Nothing doing for the mud, though.

I should also clarify my stance. I don't mind checks to enter areas, or checks within areas.

What I don't like is checks in an area where spawning is not separated.

I suppose Viper Shroud is a better example.

On the other hand, the Krag Slopes and Hidden Plateau are separated by a similar check, but to the best of my knowledge the spawn wasn't linked.
