Black forest viper damage table 03/16/2013 04:36 AM CDT
A black forest viper's fangs glisten as it tries to bite you!
Some whorled tempest grey armor veined with blue-black mithglin partially deflects the onslaught of the crushing attack.
AS: +338 vs DS: +228 with AvD: +7 + d100 roll: +18 = +135
... and hits for 3 points of damage!
Glancing blow to your right leg!
A black forest viper's fangs glisten as it tries to bite you!
Some whorled tempest grey armor veined with blue-black mithglin partially deflects the onslaught of the puncture attack.

Thrust glances off your knee.
Might be stiff tomorrow, but it's okay now.

Is it intended that viper fang bites can crush? Puncture and maybe slash seem more appropriate.

I think not intended, but not easily changed either.

Natural weapon attacks like bite aren't specific to the creature and you'll see the same mix of damage types whatever sort of teeth it has.

However, if you see a snake using a manoever where it sinks a fang into you for crush damage, that probably can and should be changed.

>Much larger than a typical snake, the viper is nearly ten feet long, and it is quite capable of slaying foes as large as a human.

Yes, I think it could crush you in its jaws.
