Rick Perry turned in enough signatures to get on the Virginia ballot. But some of the signatures were thrown out because the signature gatherers were not eligible to be voters in Virginia.

Perry's suit against Virginia claims that the Virginia statute limiting signature gatherers to those eligible to be voters in Virginia is an unconstitutional restriction on freedom of speech and freedom of association. I think Perry has a good legal argument.

I hope Perry stays in the race long enough to get a ruling. Laws like the one in Virginia impede the democratic process.
