In a fun interview from NPR, Ben Jones, who played Cooter on the Dukes of Hazzard, recounts his 1994 run against Gingrich for a U.S. House seat in Georgia.

The election was never close. He "beat us like a rented mule," in Jones' words.

At one point, Gingrich called Jones "scurrilous." At first, Jones thought it must be a terrible insult. But after looking it up, Jones conceded that he is sometimes scurrilous.
