I'd always heard that vaespilons wouldn't open implode if someone was in the room with them. I heard it repeated so much that it was stated as poor form to leave one with a prepped spell

[The Rift]
A group of worms has created a large hole in the ceiling. Through it pours a torrent of blood, washing over the room and flooding the already overworked walls. The smell is horrible, although you cannot tell if it comes from the worms or the decaying flesh. You also see a vaespilon and a polished modwir box.
Also here: the body of Xxxx who is lying down
Obvious exits: east, southwest, northwest

A vaespilon draws an ancient sigil in the air.
>You hear a loud POP as a silvery thread appears suspended in the air before you!
>The polished modwir box slowly begins to rise into the air. Beneath it, four spindly, spider-like legs can now be seen. The box sways momentarily as the legs fight to balance their load. The box's legs begin to stamp the ground in unison, and then it takes off running and rapidly disappears out of sight.
>A n'ecare pads in silently!
>prep 1630castA vaespilon waves a skeletal hand!
A vaespilon casts into the air above its head and a rip appears in the sky! The fissure begins to feed on the air around you!
A n'ecare is knocked over by the wind!
A n'ecare grabs hold of the ground to keep from being sucked into the void!
You are knocked over by the wind!
You scramble to keep from being sucked into the void!
>...wait 10 seconds.
>...wait 10 seconds.

Tha-thump.

>lookA n'ecare stands up slowly.
>A vaespilon draws an ancient sigil in the air.
>A lost soul floats in!

A group of worms has created a large hole in the ceiling. Through it pours a torrent of blood, washing over the room and flooding the already overworked walls. The smell is horrible, although you cannot tell if it comes from the worms or the decaying flesh. You also see a lost soul, a black void, a n'ecare, a slender silvery thread and a vaespilon.

Guess it was just a myth.

Actually it's that they WILL open implode if you leave the room, not that they won't if you stay.
