A glistening cerebralite brings a number of tentacles up on either side of its body!
You hear a harmony of depression and lethargy coming from a glistening cerebralite.
You struggle with the debilitating force!
You are forced out of hiding.

Warding failed!
You feel yourself slowing down in a depressed state!

6 seconds later it was dead - but the depression lasted for another 2-3 minutes. I've had it last for 5-6 before as well. Is this intentional? The docs state that it lasts until it's renewed (or not) by the singer - maybe I'm misremembering but I seem to recall that killing the singer will normally stop these sorts of songs...

They last until the creatures next renew cycle would come up, whether it is dead or alive. It is intentional and it is a pain in the butt, but nothing to be done about it either except wait it out.

Depressing thought, isn't it?

Yea, it is a pain but maybe the Rift itself will strip you of it before the normal dropoff.
