Poison filled weapon bug - flaring when not covered in poison 01/16/2017 11:50 AM CST
Out and about, killing poor orcs with my poison filled weapon. I have not poured any poison into the weapon from the poisons available from the cart in the Park. I have not added any poison to the weapon since it has had some from years back. The poison in use has been in the weapon for years.

I hadn't noticed this over the past couple of days because when I'd see "is no longer poisoned." message I would TOUCH my falcata and it would coat the weapon in poison again.

The message came up after I moved on to another orc, but I let it be until I killed it. However, I still got the messaging for the poison flare going off. I looked at the falcata and it showed:

>l at my fal
A small stud is imbedded into the base of the vultite falcata.

It doesn't show the weapon is coated in poison....

I measured the falcata to see if it still had doses left in it, and it does:

>measure my fal
Glancing carefully at the falcata, you see it has 5 doses remaining within.

I went out after a few more orcs to see if the odd issue persisted, and it did. I hunted down another 5-6 orcs and the weapon was still flaring. However, I cannot confirm that the weapon is actually causing any harm to the target, but it is nonetheless, showing flaring messages when there is no poison coating the weapon.

This is how the weapon appears when it's covered in poison:
>l at my fal
A small stud is imbedded into the base of the vultite falcata. The vultite falcata is covered in foul-smelling murky umber oil.

You notice that the vultite falcata is no longer poisoned .

I'm going to play around more and see if the issue continues after re-coating the weapon and going through all the flares from the dose.

Takes a while to get through a dose of poison....anyway, I'm not entirely sure where the issue is, but there appears to be some kind of bug.

I watched the weapon flare and the next swing it gives the message that the weapon is no longer coated in poison. I found a few more orcs after I got the message and I continued to see flares for the weapon.

In the first table, you'll see there is no message about the how the weapon is no longer poisoned on the first swing. The weapon flared and the next swing then shows the weapon is no longer poisoned.
You swing a sweeping vultite falcata at a lesser burrow orc!
AS: +145 vs DS: +44 with AvD: +36 + d100 roll: +44 = +181
... and hit for 36 points of damage!
Mighty blow cracks several ribs.
Your vultite falcata fades some.
A malodorous toxin spits from your vultite falcata and slimes the face of the burrow orc!
The remaining oil drips off of your falcata.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
>attack
You notice that the vultite falcata is no longer poisoned .
You swing a sweeping vultite falcata at a lesser burrow orc!
AS: +145 vs DS: +42 with AvD: +36 + d100 roll: +85 = +224
... and hit for 55 points of damage!
Eye crushed by a hard blow to the face!
The lights in a lesser burrow orc's eyes dim and finally go out.
Your vultite falcata fades some.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

I confirmed the weapon was no longer coated in poison by LOOKing at it:

>l at my fal
A small stud is imbedded into the base of the vultite falcata.

I then went on to find a few more orcs to slaughter and sure enough, the weapon is still flaring poison.
You notice that the vultite falcata is no longer poisoned .
You swing a sweeping vultite falcata at a lesser burrow orc!
AS: +145 vs DS: +64 with AvD: +36 + d100 roll: +20 = +137
... and hit for 17 points of damage!
Slash to the burrow orc's right leg hits high!
Kinda makes your knees weak, huh?
Your vultite falcata fades some.
A brackish foul-smelling solution from your vultite falcata splashes the burrow orc which quickly begins to wither!
The remaining oil drips off of your falcata.

I don't know if these flares are absolutely causing damage, but this seems like a bug either way. The weapon shouldn't flare when it's not coated in poison.

I'll bug the item in game, it's a sweeping jagged vultite falcata . I've also registered the item.

Finally ran out of poison in the weapon:

>l at my fal
A small stud is imbedded into the base of the vultite falcata.
>measure my fal
Glancing carefully at the falcata, you see it has nothing contained within.

However, the weapon is still flaring
You notice that the reservoir of poison in the vultite falcata is empty .
You swing a sweeping vultite falcata at a greater burrow orc!
AS: +134 vs DS: +53 with AvD: +34 + d100 roll: +51 = +166
... and hit for 31 points of damage!
Mighty blow cracks several ribs.
A spray of a noxious toxin flies from your vultite falcata bathing the burrow orc in a vile substance!
The remaining oil drips off of your falcata.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

I stood around the orc for a few minutes and it's AS did not decrease nor did it just fall over and die. It's not bleeding, only has a couple of minor wounds. After a couple of minutes, the orc's AS went from +118 to +128. So it doesn't appear that the poison flares without having poison in the weapon is causing continued damage to them, but the flares are happening (not sure if the initial flare causes any damage) and there is one flare that will knock the target over.

The weapon flares without any poison in it at all, but I'm not sure if the flares cause any damage or not.
