Training in Elemental Lore, Water will remove 1 point per seed 10 summation of ranks of potential damage to a lockpick on a failed picking attempt. The potential damage to a lockpick can completely removed, but any previous damage will not be fixed by Water Lore. The bonus will apply when cast on others.
My question is: What does 1 point (or 10 points, or 1000 points) of damage actually mean? Do the numbers under the 'strength' column at https://gswiki.play.net/Lockpicks correspond 1:1 to points of damage a pick can take? Looks like those numbers were added to the wiki around when ELR happened, but there's no explanation as far as I can see.
While we're at it is there some kind of threshold behind the 'may have been weakened' and 'bending the tip' messaging? I'm now assuming these are the same kind of damage, just a difference in degree.
