So my little monk is resting by the altar in RR when suddenly:

Person just appeared on the altar, looking a tad confused.

You see a lump moving about just under the skin on Person's chest!
Person looks weak with shock and pain!

The skin suddenly ripples on Person's chest!
>
Person gives a single weak gasp, and suddenly drops quite dead!

* Person drops dead at your feet!

>
A spiked onyx scarab suddenly erupts out of Person's chest and drops to the ground!


I've never even heard of a scarab following staying in someone after they decayed... is this a bug or feature?

A severed gnomish hand crawls in on its fingertips and makes a rude gesture before quickly decaying and rotting into dust. A gust of wind quickly scatters the dust.

If a player uses DEPART while a scarab is still attached to their character's body, it remains with the character.

I am not the official scarab wrangler, so I can't give an confirmation if this is intended or not.

However, they have always done this as far back as I can remember.

A kobold swings a short sword at itself!
Blow glances off the kobold's shoulder.
The kobold blushes furiously!
