Paladin Stats - Help to a returning player 02/20/2018 07:58 PM CST
Hi all,

I apologize for posting this here, but it looks like I'm not allowed to post in the actual paladin boards(?). I'm returning and testing the waters a bit after being away for over 10 years. Having a blast so far but some of the new mechanics (and I admit, even some of the basics) are still throwing me. Would anyone mind giving me some help on my base stats? I did a bunch of reading and thought I determined a good set of stats, but I'm getting like a 15 second RT fully healthy and with zero encumbrance. In short, I obviously don't know what I'm doing, haha.

Giantman paladin:

Level: 4
Normal (Bonus) ... Enhanced (Bonus)
Strength (STR): 36 (8) ... 36 (8)
Constitution (CON): 62 (16) ... 62 (16)
Dexterity (DEX): 80 (10) ... 80 (10)
Agility (AGI): 80 (10) ... 80 (10)
Discipline (DIS): 66 (8) ... 66 (8)
Aura (AUR): 84 (12) ... 84 (12)
Logic (LOG): 90 (15) ... 90 (15)
Intuition (INT): 71 (10) ... 71 (10)
Wisdom (WIS): 66 (8) ... 66 (8)
Influence (INF): 41 (1) ... 41 (1)
Mana: 25 Silver: 379

Also, I know I have a few opportunities to change before 20...and then, do you get like one chance a year or something?

Thanks in advance!

May not be a stat problem. If you are wearing armor that you aren't trained for that can cause issues as well. Also what weapon(s) are you swinging?

I'm wearing cuirbouilli leather as my main armor (with 10 ranks of armor use), and I'm using a white blade and small shield at the moment.

Need 18 ranks of armor use to fully train that off

15 ranks just for the RT. 18 ranks for maneuvers as well.

Ah, okay. Let me get something lighter and see if that helps. Thanks!

No one should have a strength of 36 ever.

Thanks! Any suggestion on how much to adjust it?

These were the stats I used on my giantman paladin. I won't claim they are the best possible, but it was the set that worked for me.

Level 0 Stats for SomeGuy, Giantman Paladin

Strength (STR): 64
Constitution (CON): 58
Dexterity (DEX): 77
Agility (AGI): 77
Discipline (DIS): 62
Aura (AUR): 82
Logic (LOG): 88
Intuition (INT): 70
Wisdom (WIS): 62
Influence (INF): 20

<No one should have a strength of 36 ever.>

Yer, I was just thinking that if that wasn't part of the problem with their RT (along with being undertrained for the armor), they were certainly going become encumbered fast and be missing out on a good amount of AS.

The stats Menos posted look a lot better. I'm not sure I'd put INF quite so low, but if there's any stat to put that low that would be the one.

The current trend is to max a few stats to make life easy until level 20 and then adjust them to a pace you can live with.

Level 1 - 20:
STR 100
CON 70
DEX 70
AGL 90
DIS 90
AUR 50
LOG 100
INT 20
WIS 50
INF 20

The above will make life fairly easy in regards to combat and experience gain for the first 20 levels. Once you reach 20, you need to decide if you'll make the grind to cap or want to take a more leisurely pace over a few years.

STR 43 100
CON 62 100
DEX 70 100
AGL 70 100
DIS 68 100
AUR 82 100
LOG 88 100
INT 82 100
WIS 66 100
INF 29 80

Above are my personal starting stats for a half-elf paladin and his stats at level 100. It is entirely possible to make it to cap with a low strength, but I did have access to 509 which helped quite a bit.

Can he actually change stats at level 20, or does it have to be at level 19? I't been ages since I had a character that young, so I totally forget the mechanics involved.
Also, this still has to be done in an Inn, yes?

Must be 19 still... and yes, stats at an inn. There's no GUI for them like there is skills.
