Wrap Up: Ord an Dragan's Green Spring Fling - 17th of Charlatos! 03/18/2016 06:50 AM CDT
Hi all,

We had a great turn out for the Ord an Dragan Green Spring Fling! Over 41 guests were in attendance. It was a fun party and we again had some amazing poem contest entries! I have highlighted the contest and raffle winners below as well as posted the contest entries and other musings.

Raffle Winner for an emerald green shillelagh was Forestall.

Winners of the 6 line poem contest that must include the words ‘green’ and ‘spring’:
1st Place: Rivienne
2nd Place: Aryleste
3rd Place: Ilnock

Poem contest entries:

Falvicar recites:
The spring has come, the kobolds..
They look so cute and yet so mean!
They will drink your ale, and scoff your tale
While eating bread that's green!
And when they are done... dun Dun DUN....
They dance to kazoos not seen!

Kylinarr recites:
While the first green buds of Spring begin to blossom from the trees,
While the flowers begin to bloom, While love often begins to flourish anew,
While every creature turns to thoughts of ardor and love once more,
I'll find my heart's strings all a flutter for the new.
Again the new in my thoughts and love for you.

Regwen recites:
The spring has come and with it love for creature far and near.
A word of caution as you go out for there is now much more to fear.
Randy thoughts cross creatures minds and you don t want to be in the way.
So If a kobold gets silly look while trying to knock you down
Don t wait for the green mist to cover your leave
Run for the hills I say!

Rivienne recites brightly:
Mad as a hare in Charlatos, dizzy as a nectar-drunk bee,
I disdained last winter's gowns for a hemline closer to the knee.
Fresh buds, new blooms and tender grass - from these I took the season's cue,
To find garb of silk or satin bearing a perfectly green hue.
In a rush, I left my room and mirror with one last careful glance,
I want to greet the spring with friends for over Darkstone Bay we dance!

Ipsidora recites:
I's time fer spring an' all is green
Gnomes, donned in clover leaf
Roltons, sheddin' all they fleece
Arctic Foxes, comin' ou' t' play
and meltin' are the Ice Glacei
Cause i's time fer spring an' all is green

Ilnock recites whimsically:
I was courtin' a lass,
Who turned green as grass
On our spring date down by the wharf.
I m sorry,' she leered,
But I won t grow a beard!
So from now on I only court dwarf.

Aryleste recites:
Lady Oleani, the Lady of Spring
Here before all, to you I shall sing
Bring us to your season, so sweet
Give life and love, your wondrous feat
Renew us, with things fresh and green
Bless those present, lovers and friends all seen.

Kayse recites:
A snowball was thrown at my face just the other day,
Brushing the snow off my nose, a giggle halfing ran the other away.
Glancing around I noticed the snow was slowly disappearing,
Spring was starting to flourish and soon green would be revealing.
With no snow to seek my revenge, I'll be creative in what I'll do.
Perhaps the halfing won't be giggling, once I throw some rolton poo.

Barreaus recites:
As the mountains awake, to a warmer day
The ale flows quicker, a Dwarf won't stray
From the kegs or the steins
Nae a flask of wine
For it's spring time ya mooks
raise dem glasses high

Aptorian recites:
I once knew a fair halfling damsel by the name of Leighmay
From her downy toes to her freckled nose she was a fine lass
She fished the bank of the Locksmehr for pike and walleye by day
Twas a spring in me breeches with each glance at her plump trophy bass
One eve at Helga's, I do still regret, that deep in my cups, my eyes they did stray
Lickity split, I found myself sleeping alone out in the green spring grass before the next dawn did pass

Goldstr sings:
A warrior travels da trails an mazes
protectin his friends from da critters crazes
And when done wid his guild classes
he in da streets chasin da lasses
If ye finds him in Helga's havin a brew
He may treat ye to a tale er two
An lads in da spring ye be turnin green
seein da lass at his arm be a Queen!

Beldannon drunkenly sings:
My name is Singing Sam is my name.
I like to sing songs because its time to sing.
To sing sooooooongs. Oooooh. Time to sing.
Time for sings to song Sams!

Thank you to all who came out to the event and participated in the poem contest. I would also like to thank the ord an Dragan members who volunteered their time to help make this event another success!

We look forward to seeing you at the next Ord an Dragan event!
