Should we change our GS4 passwords because of the Heartbleed thing? Does GS4 use the affected technology?

SIMU keeps your password stored on a stone tablet. SQL is far beyond what tech they have....;)

These two news articles might help.

As to whether Simu's servers are safe, I didn't get a pop up from the Chromebleed (though I'm hearing that Chromebleed might not catch em all) extension on my browser when I logged in. I'll take that as a good sign that Simutronics servers might not have the vulnerability that 60% of the servers out there have. Though it would be good to hear from Simu's people as to whether "they" note the issue on their end. From what I've read, once you know where to look it's rather easy for the IT folks to see if they've had the issue or are vulnerable to it. It apparently is an easy patch from what I've read as well.

I think I need to get password manager software. I know it would not work with the SGE. I'll just remember my GS4 password. I'll use the password manager for other sites. I've heard LastPass is good. Any opinions?

I've been using Dashlane for the last year plus. Though I really like it, they don't make a Windows Phone app for it. :( I've been trying to give them a chance because I really do like Dashlane, but with no Windows Phone app in the future it looks like I'll be giving it up soon. The better half uses Lastpass and really likes it, I've been checking it out and I am impressed.

Keepass is the standard with a lot of the customers I work with (http://keepass.info/). I've used it here and there and it is definitely easy to work with. It's also free.. but I can't speak to much beyond that in terms of security, etc.

On another note.. good to still see you around Jim. :)

Yepper, Keepass, Lastpass, Onepass, Dashlane, there are some useful password managers out there. :) Good to see you still around Aanton. :) Grendeg still about?

I've been over in plat for about 3 years now, so I'm not entirely sure if he is still around. I don't recall seeing his name highlighted any of the times I've popped into prime in recent memory, though. But.. that doesn't mean much because I'm not logging into prime all that often.

The only things affected by Heartbleed were internal and those were fixed within hours of the story breaking. Worry not!

But that shouldn't stop you from changing your password on a regular basis. Personally, I use LastPass and I love it, but as mentioned, there are a number of other options that are equally useful.
