Warrior, Claidh VS Greatsword? 01/27/2018 03:32 PM CST

So I'm a new warrior, just hit level 5, and I did intend on dedicating myself to the Claid... Until i found out how stupidly rare they are, as though they are somehow mythical uncraftable weapons... So, I was wondering, what Greatsword would a steel Claid be on par with? As in, a Mithril Greatsword, Ora, Imflass etc. I'm assuming that when I reach a certain level, I might as well get rid of my steel Claid and replace it with another weapon of a certain material?

Go buy a bunch of daggers in the Landing smithy, and you should get access to Tyron's/Tykel's back room stock.
Claidhmores are like 5k or less, if I recall.
Icemule's shop has two (2) varieties, for 1200 or less.
Teras, 4500.
Nothing in Solhaven.
Nothing in Zul.
May be something on the wagon/cart in the NW corner of the Landing/outside.

The benefit that they have is that even a minor scratch (== "do enough HP damage to inflict a crit against that armor") can turn into something severe, due to the weighting.

No amount of extra AS on a greatsword will make it come anywhere near the effectivess of a claidhmore. Even a 10x greatsword will underperform vs 1x claidhmore as long as you can actually get an endroll of 108 or above.
