Elanthian Elegance will be sponsoring Fashion Week again this year! I aim to schedule it at the same time as last year (5-13th August) in the hope it doesn't clash with anything. I know this is a few months away but I wanted to raise awareness now so people had plenty of time to plan. Last year was a great success so I'm really hoping we can get more CHEs, MHOs, and other interested parties involved to make this year's even better.
Just to give you an idea of what I already have planned with Sylvanfair, Elanthian Elegance, and the Looking Glass:
* Fashion Showcase ~ fashion show of your interpretation of this year's themes
* Siegery Tournament ~ battle your minis against fashionable icons such as Veola and Estefan.
* The Pantheon Collection ~ an auction of Arkati-themed outfits
* Lectures and elegant parties
I've created a wiki page to keep everyone updated and, once we've had the planning meeting (probably in May), I'll be asking everyone to add in events etc. that they'd like to host.

Kneeling on the floor, the skirt of her cream homespun gown tucked beneath her, Rohese leaned forward and adjusted a few pieces of parchment. She switched two over and sat back on her heels to ponder the arrangement laid out in front of her.
“That should do it!” she announced to no one in particular but felt a sense of satisfaction in having finally sorted out the schedule. “This year’s Fashion Week will be even busier than last year,” she remarked, collecting in all the sheets and stacking them neatly in chronological order.
Rising elegantly to her feet, she placed the pile of paper on her desk and turned her attention to the dress forms lined up against the wall. Each was dressed in a neatly pinned and tacked garment just awaiting a seamstresses’ final attention. Some were draped in samples of lace and silk ribbon, while others sported metal shards and wire.
Rohese ran her fingers idly over a mannequin wearing a particularly ostentatious blue gown adorned with pearls and smiled to herself. Charl himself would approve, I’m sure. The Pantheon Collection was a project close to her heart and she was excited about the opportunity to present it on the last day of the festivities.
Opening the door, she called for her maid who appeared almost immediately. “Let’s make a start on the guest list and invitations, shall we,” she smiled and handed the eager young sylvan a quill and notebook.
OOC: Planning is well underway for this year's Fashion Week and I've started to put together a provisional schedule based on interest so far. The GS wiki page has been updated and I will be reaching out to CHEs/MHOs again shortly to see if anyone else would like to host an event during the week.

Rohese replaced her quill into the inkwell, taking care not to break the nib, and added the final invitation to the stack on her desk. Having ticked off the last few names on her guest list, she sat back in her chair and breathed a sigh of relief. Mayor Cruxophim, High Legionnaire Kakoon, Seneschal Aeriadrn, the bardess Luxelle, and, of course, Newsby were just a few of the special guests she hoped would be able to attend the launch event next month.
She thumbed through the final proof of the promotional booklet, its glossy pages filled with all sorts of useful information. The champagne reception was to be the first of many events planned for the week and she was pleased to see that the details for them all were included.
Rising to her feet, she headed towards her bed chamber, closing the door gently behind her. Time to go through my gowns and decide what to wear!

Feastday, the 12th day of Phoenatos (August 12th) will see the return of Elanthian Fashion Week. Since the festivities start at the end of the Frontier Days celebrations, the sponsors have decided to hold the launch party in the impressive setting of the Wehnimer's Landing Museum. Expect the champagne to flow freely and the conversation to be convivial.
Restday (August 13th) is likely to be anything but restful! The week will start with the first in a series of lectures, presentations, and discussions. Bring a notebook and embark on an educational journey over the next 8 days where you will learn all there is to know about fashion - practical and ostentatious - as well as the intricacies of alterations, merchant etiquette, and accessorizing. Delve into the secrets of Nalfein fans, the magical properties of gems, and traditional hairstyles of the Dhe'nar. Familiarize yourself with the subtleties of cultural hunting and fishing attire, the latest trends in the Elven court, and the art of masquerade.
Volnes (August 14th) will see the launch of a 5-day shoe sale in Ta'Illistim, with the chance to pick up the latest in fashionable footwear at bargain prices and new stock added daily. Throughout the rest of the week you will also get the chance to relax and have some fun. There will be fast-paced games like Greedy Gremlins, Style Scramble, and Picture This, along with more leisurely activities such as fishing, fortune telling, and scrapbooking. All with fashion in mind, of course! You can also expect to see cobbling wares and other merchandise for sale. Listen out for announcements!
As the week draws to a close the fun really picks up a pace! On the evening of Day of the Huntress (August 18th), Ebonstone Manor will be the setting for a battle of epic proportions. Bring your siegery miniatures and take on some of Elanthia's fashionable elite in Fashion Wars!
We're not finished yet! The main event of the week will be a Fashion Showcase on the afternoon of Feastday, the 19th day of Phoenatos (August 19th) in the Ebonstone Manor Ballroom, where everyone will have the opportunity to show off their creative talents on the catwalk. The choice of themes for this year's Fashion Week are Shabby Chic, Metallic Mastery, Sugar and Spice, and Woodland Walks. Each entry will be judged according to how well it's presented on the runway and the interpretation of the chosen theme for the coveted "Chalat Award". Sign-up sheets will be available on the day so come dressed ready and be prepared to put your best foot forward.
Restday, the 20th day of Phoenatos (August 20th) will see the festivities draw to a close but not before the presentation and auction of the Pantheon Collection: a unique collection of Arkati-themed outfits in hallowed surroundings. Interested parties should gather in Solhaven's Liabo Plaza where they will spend the afternoon being escorted to secret locations around the town. Later that evening, Elanthian Elegance will be hosting a cocktail party in the elegant setting of Lily Manor's Museum of Fashion History to review the week's events, reminisce about the runway scene, and discuss ideas for next season's programme.
