“It’s arrived!” A young elf burst through the door, struggling to catch his breath.
Rohese looked up from her book with a start. “What has?” She pursed her lips, annoyed at having been so rudely interrupted.
Still panting, the elf looked a little sheepish but handed over a sheet of parchment. “Permission from Lord Ruthiford Pennington to use his ballroom in the Ebonstone Manor for the main event!”
Rohese soon forgot her anger and smiled at her eager protégé. “That is excellent news,” she replied, “and so promptly too.”
Rising from her window seat, she closed her book and placed it back on the shelf with the others. “Now we must make a start on the arrangements. Send word to all concerned that we need to organize a meeting.”
Rohese read the letter again and pondered. “I wonder if Lady Oirisu or her sister, Airisu, would be willing to assist.”
Seating herself at her desk, she reached for her quill and began to write a letter of her own.
