I have made a quality of life update to cobbling materials and adornments. When you LOOK at them, you will be able to see what patterns the adornments will work for, so it is no longer a guess and check mystery. If the materials are restricted to one pattern, you will see that (this update went live in July). We've received a number of bug reports that certain materials cannot be used for cobbling when they were adornments, not materials. This should hopefully remove some of that mystery.
There are cobbling materials out there that have gone out wrong. If you have an item that tells you it is broken or is just completely wonky with the pattern (buckled with etched, etc.), post it here and I'll see about putting out a mass change rather than having you all assist for hundreds of items.

Also... do you think it might ever be possible to make the measuring cords work with dyer tent dyes or maybe labels or something that will allow us to differentiate between clients? It can get very confusing and there's no really easy well to tell if you accidentally mix them up.

That sounds like nothing on my "VANAH MUST DO TODAY" list, so yeah, sure. The cords can now be dyed. Also, if you measure anyone going forward, you'll see their name when you LOOK at the cord. You won't see this if someone else does the measuring or if you measured before the update.
You wrap your cord around Vanah's leg and foot in several different directions. You slide the beads up and down the length of the cord, pushing them across the knots, keeping track of your various measurements.

The knotted cord is about three handspans long. Tightly wound knots are spaced evenly along its length, and twelve ruby-colored beads are threaded along it in an uneven pattern that you gauge would be suitable to make shoes for forest gnomes.
You remember that you measured Vanah with the cord.

You pull all the beads to one end of your cord, clearing all of the measurements you might have made.

And just to be clear, I'm not actively working on anything for cobbling, but I felt a few updates were necessary to prevent stuff from continuing to go out wrong. We do have a few new GMs who are very interested in cobbling, so if they need coding support, at least I'm familiar enough with the system now to provide it.
