Spell Song Idea: Song of Victorious Strike 03/08/2017 03:58 AM CST
The Bard summons a giant swing with no Roundtime to hit each and every enemy in the room once with diminishing returns. So for example, the Bard prepares Victorious Strike in a room filled with 25 Grimswarm. The first strike will be a huge blow worthy of singing in bars for the rest of the existence of the tavern and of grog. It will be a massive strike (but with a certain risk factor). The second one will be slightly less impressive and so on until the end of the 25 has a bonus of only +5-25 on it, depending on how you roll. This one could be really a whole lot of fun if taken to some extremes. Since we are looking at a very high level slot, the power would be suitable for this as a room controller worthy of the investment getting a bard so high with that spell slot would take. The First Strike could have an automatic +100 to AS with a series of rolls to give it a boost after that. The real entertainment value for me on this will be the reward of the random rolls after the basic bonus, so you get some chance to get a super-strike out of it. I've been told by GM's that a +50 claidhmore is possible out of the mangler, it's just impossibly unlikely so that it probably won't be happening anytime- ever. The same could apply to this, there could be no cap on how high it goes but it could get very unlikely to get to +400 say. A +100 to AS for a swing with a modifier after of several rolls which can sort of work like a string of activators where if you hit a threshold it will continue to increase but with lower and lower chances for success. You could wind up with a +146 say on the first swing. Then depending on how well you do, the second swing would be +90 and then modifiers. Then the next +80, etc. down to +15 per swing as the lowest possible increase for the remaining critters past the number of times it takes to lower the advantage to a +15 per swing with modifiers after to boost. The lack of RT would be that it takes the same RT as it would to strike normally but with a modifier that can be trained off (say a +5 second additional RT can be reduced to 0 with 100 Air Lore Ranks or something).

Room goo.

Absolutely restores the 'Bardness' to the class as if GS3 were being honored. The high swing is not so hard to take, I've seen way over +600 in invasions and once you're over a certain cap it doesn't seem to make such a big difference.
