armor fluidity 05/19/2015 06:54 PM CDT

I'm a paladin wearing studded leather armor, has 4% hinderance on paladin spells. I had fluidity adjustment level one, that should be -10% hinderance on paladin spells, meaning i shouldn't get a armor failure right? I just had it happen to me twice on my last hunt, I refreashed fluidity after the first failure just incase stormfront was wrong on the time left, and failed again.

It's reduces your penalty by 10% of the total penalty rounded down to the nearest whole percentage point.

With rank one you wouldn't see any difference (4% * .1) = TRUNC(0.4%) = 0%
At 5 ranks your penalty would be reduced to 2% (4% * .5) = 2%

A slight correction to this. It reduces your hindrance by rank * 1/10 * minimum hindrance. This means if you aren't fully trained for your armor you won't get as big of a break using it. For example min hindrance for MnS in fullplate is 20%. If you weren't fully trained for it and your hindrance was 40%, using rank 5 fluidity you'd only see a reduction of 10%, bringing you down to 30%, not 20%(1/2 of your 40%).
