Saturday, April 2, 2022 - MHOs: Updates on Membership Minimums & Inactivity + One-Time Reactivation Opportunity
We've been reviewing the MHO guidelines and found a few areas we thought were clarified but were not, so we're taking this opportunity to do so. Information is below, and the MHO Guide is being updated accordingly.

Minimum Membership Requirements
Each MHO must maintain at least five (5) members. If membership slips below five, you will need to work to get more members. The MHO GM will give you at least three (3) months to do so upon discovery, after which time, your MHO will be removed from the system. As always, the MHO GM will work with you, and there can be special, extenuating circumstances allowing for additional leeway here.

2022 Exception: For 2022, since we are just announcing this, you have until the end of the year to get your membership up to a minimum of 5 members.

Inactivity Rule Update
Under the old system, MHOs could ask to be set inactive and could then reactivate later. We are updating this language to be more clear. Going forward, an MHO can request a one-year suspension of MHO requirements. Inactivity grants are on a calendar year basis. At any point, you can request an early end to an inactivity status, and you will be granted MHO system access again. However, you must also meet all requirements for the year. You cannot be inactive for more than one year. MHOs will automatically be placed back in the MHO system at the end of their inactivity period, and normal requirements will apply.

An MHO should not request inactivity more than once. Again, however, on a case-by-case basis, a second, non-consecutive time may be granted.

Example:
Current year: You know you will not be able to meet 2022's requirements. You reach out to the MHO GM and are granted an exemption for 2022 requirements. For the remainder of 2022, you do not have access to the MHO system. Starting in 2023, you will be placed back in the system.
Upcoming year: You suspect 2023 will be rough, so you reach out to the MHO GM in advance and are granted an exemption for 2023 requirements. You will meet 2022 requirements, and for 2023, you will not have access to the MHO system. Starting in 2024, you will be placed back in the system.

Being placed as inactive means:
No access to the MHO Halls or their systems (tent rentals, etc.)
No access to your MHO structure
No event requirements for the time period

ONE-TIME REACTIVATION OPPORTUNITY
There are a handful of MHOs showing under the inactive list that we believe requested inactivity (versus failed to meet requirements). Since it was fairly nebulous how long you could stay at inactive and still expect to reactivate in the past, we are offering a one-time opportunity for reactivation for the MHOs listed below. Members/Officers must reach out to me by October 1, 2022 with a request to reactivate. Failure to do so means the inactive MHO will be permanently removed from the MHO system.

How to Request Reactivation:

Email the MHO GM at GS4-MHO@PLAY.NET and include [MHO Reactivation](MHO Name) in the subject
Provide the MHO officer names and contact information
Request reactivation
Once reactivated, meet all 2022 requirements for Prominent tier
1 qualifying event
Minimum of five members
If this is met, then in 2023, you will be considered Renowned tier again, and if you have a structure, it will be reopened
Prize closet access will also be restored under the current prize closet requirements
Eligible Inactive MHOs
Greater Elanthian Merchant Society
Clan Jakarta
Clan Snar
Alliance of High Elven Society
Haven Emergency Resource Team
Elanthian Performance Troupe
Gypsy Troupe
