Hey isn't this suppose to be free to play? i went to reactivate and had to charge my credit card. Also. Im stuck in the citidel by a ghostly gardener and i need to get back to icemule so i can reroll. sheesh.

If you are reactivating an account that you had set up in the past, any account that was previously a pay account cannot be free to play.
You'd have to create a brand new account to create a free to play character.

No need to go all the way to Icemule, RR has an inn you can check into. From the commons just GO PATH, NE, E, GO INN, CHECK IN

Before you reroll ... you might want to investigate whether there is a fIXSKILL/FIXSTAT/FIXWHATEVER waiting for you after changes in the time you were gone.

In-game, type ESP for information on the new ESP verb (mostly replaces the usage of crystal amulets), and THINK is the verb to use. Just remember that GENERAL is an IC channel, so you need to stay in character. There are some OOC channels too and ESP will walk you through that.
Out of game, we do have a Discord, and you can access the general channel there (everything on Discord is OOC) and a few others, but there are several other channels that you need to link your GS account with your Discord in order to access. Type DISCORD in game to see how to use it. https://gswiki.play.net/Main_Page has info on this.

As others have mentioned, an existing account cannot be F2P, which is why you needed to use a credit card. If you want a new character, you can start up a new F2P account. Information can be found here: https://gswiki.play.net/F2P_subscription

As mentioned, you can reroll in just about any town, and RR does have an inn to do so. However, as also mentioned, there have been lots of great changes over the years, and sometimes that means you may have a FIXSKILLS or FIXSTATS available to you. They are also purchasable in the Simucoin store (and annually, you do wind up with a fixskills, which is in given in May). You may find that your character is viable as-is or with a few minor tweaks!
