Most of them have actions on BOW and READ. While they are a staff, you can also POINT and LEAN. When they are in their belt/circlet/wristlet mode, you can RUB them. If you CLENCH the staff it turns into the belt/circlet/wristlet. Then in that form, you can TAP that to change it back to the staff. As far as the not being able to enchant thing goes, that's a property controlled by the script, and cannot be removed (unless someday the script owner should choose to change how they work).

Remember that there is a mana cost to do the shape-shift; I gave myself nervous damage a couple of times when I was running low but getting ready to head back, before I kept the lesson internalized.
