HSN Property Raffle 06/25/2015 10:39 PM CDT
I just set up a raffle for a lucky Private Property owner! Outside Hale Hall on Four Winds is a raffle table and some RULES. Be sure to read the rules! Tickets are 10,000,000 silvers. Yes, it's steep, but there's a big reward to the winner. The winner will get to convert their property to a permanent property, rent free, that cannot be repossessed!

THIS RAFFLE IS NOT TRANSFERRABLE. No exceptions. Only the one who is recognized as the owner of the rental property should purchase the ticket.
There will be an additional fee of 20,000,000 (twenty million) silvers that must be paid immediately by the winner. The funds must be available at the time the name is drawn.
The winner MUST BE PRESENT AT THE RAFFLE TABLE when their name is drawn. Showing up after your name is drawn, even 1 (one) second late will result in a forfeit, and another winner will be spun from among those in attendance.
Winning this raffle will allow the winner's rental property to be converted to a permanently owned property, rent free, that cannot be repossessed.
The property will be converted AS IS, no changes made.
If the winner does not own a private property, their silvers will not be refunded, and a new winner will be selected from those in attendance until an eligible winner is found.
ONLY purchase the ticket with the official owner of the property, ie, not with an 'alt' or second account.

The raffle draws Monday night. Good luck!

Hopefully only one person enters and no one loses 10 mil. Seems like more of an auction-appropriate thing.

Given the extremely limited number of people who have these, it nearly is.

On the other hand, given the extremely limited number of people who have these, if the GMs see that every single one of them buys a ticket, I hope that they would realize that everyone wants this, and wants to be free of the hassle of having to remember to pay rent.
(In which case I would hope that they collect 30M [total] from all of them, convert them all, and call it done.)

I just don't see that happening. That's 50 years worth of rent on the crystal dome (not even considering the time value of money).

as of right now after speaking to most of the property owners and GM Kynlee I am guessing we will get only one or perhaps two entries, I'd enter but I'd eliminate the upgrade I am working on for my property.

With the greatest respect, I don't see the benefit of entering this raffle. My maths is appalling but isn't it the equivalent of just paying a considerable amount of money upfront for rent?

It's a 30 mil cash handover if we win.

So let's say I currently pay rent of 150k per month - I'm essentially paying 200 months worth of rent up front - which works out at 16 years?

Since the property is mine - albeit rented - as long as I pay my rent on time - I think I'll just continue to pay my rent within the 3 month window allotted to me.

Now if you decide to have a raffle for a chance to refurbish / upgrade an existing property, with let's say a 100k ticket price but with the winner providing an upfront one off immediate payment for the cost of refurb, then that's something I'd enter in a heartbeat. Got loads of ideas for upgrades, improvements and general housekeeping. :D

...about that brewery in my basement.... O.o

You can deactivate your account, go away for a year, and come back with your home safe and waiting.

Unless there's some extra repo policy in place.

For some, that's a pretty good deal.

My first thought on seeing this raffle announced was that it was for turning a premium home into a private property, which I thought was a neat idea for a raffle, even though 10 million on a raffle ticket is beyond my price point whatever is being raffled.

Just turning an existing property permanent seems to me a bit naff for something promoted to the game in general.

My glance at this is a little on the "naff" end, too.

But there will either be ticket entries, or there won't. If there are, there's interest, and if not, well, that'll send the message from the relevant parties (not I).
