Dear Mister Auchand,

I have received mails that I cherish, and would love to keep them in a book, binder, scrapbook, or something!

Is this possible? I have attempted to use them in my Elanthian Binder, but no joy.

Thought about copy/pasting into one of those writable books? It'd be a way to save them for posterity.

I thought about it ... but it is just not the same as keeping the real letter!

One presumes the person sent me that precious note on the paper they did for a reason, you know?

Hello,

The issue with storing them in the binder is that the player mail items can generate things that have too many characters. The binder will not be able to handle them at all.

While we're on the subject, I have some QOL recommendations:

-Any possibility the allowable weight or item count on envelopes could be updated to hold both a letter and a basic gem?

-I recommend putting mail notifications in monsterbold. I have a continuous list of folks who never collect mail I've sent to them, and most are unaware they even have pending mail. I have learned this after asking my dear friends why they still haven't bothered to collect those solstice gifts I sent them, QQ.

-I recommend not firing off a "you've got mail!" notification until the mail is actually available at the post office. It seems to fire off when mail is in transit instead of ready for pick-up. This happens for both notifications: login and in-game.

I don't think you understand the issue.

Say each item has a field on it that can store 511 characters.
Then, say that when you try to store that item on another item, you can only double its total output. But item one when all the fields are added up ends up being 10k characters.
There is nothing in our system that allows us to store a 10k character count item on another item.

So it isn't so much a limitation of the binder, but a limitation of the entire system.

All of the storage things that we create can only work within this type of system so whatever is going in them must all follow that rule.

You just made a great case for using regular paper for letters!

Besides, regular paper can now be SO PRETTY from a binder! :)
