You do need to dig and piece together what is out there.
Things like Demonwall, Sharath, the southern port Eh'lal, the mountain Rhoska-Tor, and lots of the stuff around Southron and Toullaire (the Wizard Waste) all have hints of tying in to the history.
I think we know the cultures of Dhenar, Khanshael, and some hints of Faendryl tie in, with Old Ta'faendryl.
We know the Kyr'orvrad temple is far closer to there rthan it is to here.
We can also suspect that character Goblyn knows something of these histories.
It's there, a history of related activities probably would end up being a well-regarded scholarly work.
