We've recently had some shop updates and changes in various towns. Here's an update:
Ta'Illistim
The Armory and Weaponry in Ta'Illistim have updated their stock with a wider variety of wares. The UCS gear has been moved to the Weaponry.
The Royal Arboretum is officially reopen, located at Glamesine Var in Ta'Illistim!
Housed within the glass dome is a botanical garden with a small cafe and a quartet of research facilities and conservatories tailored for the Chrysanthemum Consortium.
Inspired and guided by interactions and research from Avawren, Elaejia, Rohese, Uniana, and Ysaeril, the arboretum is open to the public for all sorts of social interactions and events.
Thank you again to everyone who helped bring this to life and please come visit!
River's Rest
The Al'Khalili Coffeeshop has had some updates! Food is now built on the correct profile, so it will have messaging now. The cafe proprietor has a name, a look, and some ambient messaging as well as some answers to questions.
In addition, the area leading into the cafe has had a slight facelift. The coffee shop entrance is no longer a tavern door but the cafe, and the Shop of Abdul's entrance is now a small shop. There is also a nifty new pomegranate tree.
All modifications were done with the intent of maintaining original design intent and uniqueness while updating a few things for flow and modern standards.
The shops of River's Rest have been reviewed, and a handful of updates went out to Hortinger's, the General Store, and Collip's.
Hortingers: Flails, dirks, gaffs, and shields were all updated to modern standards
General Store: Removed a few disallowed terms and added in replacement items
Collip's: Added a pure potion to the backroom, since there wasn't one (an aardvark-etched vial of pure potion - so everyone knows you shop at Collip's!)
Kraken's Fall
On March 17th, the pirates of the Scuttling Crab (or was it the Chubby Capybara?) crashed at the Fifth Pier on Kraken's Fall. It would seem they were arguing over the name of the ship while they were playing with some crated animals and there was a bit of confusion over if the helmsman said "Are we near the pier?" and the cook thought she asked "Is that a deer?"
Unfortunately, their ship crashed, and a crate of animals spilled all over, causing havoc on the island!
Fandele, Shteve, and Oluwande ended up shipwrecked!
Randomly, some hermit followed the crew and set up a hut out in the wilds.
A new shop, The Cultured Corsair, has opened in Kraken's Fall.
Located east of the Logging Colony, The Cultured Corsair can provide all of your wood flatware needs!
The shop proprietor Shteeve (maybe a brother or a third cousin of Shteve the Pirate?) was interviewed earlier today:
"Shteeve, what convinced you to build and set up shop in Kraken's Fall?"
"...I lost a bet to Larry...he knows what he did."
Nereid’s Cradle is a new neighborhood in Kraken’s Fall that is built upon a small crescent inlet. Waves crash upon a sandy beach, the surf difficult but for a skilled swimmer easy to crest to get into a small swimming area. A boardwalk stretches along the outer crescent, providing access to sixteen bungalows that are built amid the dunes. To the northeast, a Sharing Garden stretches upon a grassy area and is filled with fruits and vegetables. To the northwest, a high plateau has a bonfire, picnic tables, and a cook ready to create tasty dishes for you. Below the plateau, along the northwestern corner of the beach, a giantman offers gets clamming rakes and nets to catch sea life.
Giantman
You can pay the giantman 400 silvers for a net that lets you catch shrimp or conch in the tidepools on the beach. He will also accept 500 silvers for a clamming rake that lets you find a variety of clams. These clams can be turned into the cook to make dishes or cut open with a blade so that you can eat them raw. The shrimp and conch can only be given to the cook.
Cook
The cook can be given items from the Sharing Garden to create delicious dishes. You can also give her any of the clams, conch, or shrimp you find down on the beach for additional dishes.
Bonfire
The bonfire is a special bonfire that can be fed a variety of items from paper to flowers to herbs, with each having its own unique messaging. You can also do the following: Attend, Exhale, Gaze, Inspect, Kneel, Lean, Look, Lie, Nudge, Poke, Prod, Rub, and Sit
The area is full of pluckable items for taking.
Middle Class Properties
Each of these bungalows is three rooms. They come equipped with a Living Room, Kitchen, and Loft.
The living room is your entry point. It has a few sitting locations as well as the “Famous Artwork” on the wall.
The kitchen has a window that looks out on a section of the beach, a basin, two stoves, and a place to sit.
The loft has a bed and a footlocker that holds 100lbs of storage.
Because this is a Middle Class Property there are some things you should know. First, every property is identical in every way. However, each property comes with 15 customization slips for your bungalow. ```
Customization Slips
You analyze your design slip and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
A bungalow design slip is a private property attunement certificate that can be used to obtain alters for your private property items.
This slip is not yet attuned to any object.
USAGE:
CLEAN: Remove an attunement from the slip. This cannot be done once your request has been submitted.
POINT: Apply an approved alteration to an attuned object in your private property.
READ: See the recorded details for your slip.
WAVE: Wave at an object in your private property to attune this slip to it.
WHISPER {slip} {BASE}: Add your base alteration request to the slip
WHISPER {slip} {SHOW}: Add your show alteration request to the slip
