White Haven Service Night - Snow Poetry 05/21/2016 10:19 AM CDT
As part of our weekly service night, we come up with some sort of task that can be done in order to receive a chrism. Sometimes it's intended to teach people something about the town and its surroundings, sometimes it is intended to entertain, and sometimes its just plain silly. This past week we asked folks to share snow poetry and I was so pleasantly surprised with the quality and number of participants so I thought I would share them here. Apologies in advance if I missed anyone's contribution as I was grabbing these as I was also spelling people up throughout the hour:

Without further adieu, White Haven service night snow poetry!

Bilfords recites:

"If you're as pure
As the driven snow
What's driving you?
I'd like to know.
If it's fear
Of what you don't know
Try it, you'll like it!
That's what makes life go."

Naimon recites:

"Roses is red
snow is not
but it's cold
an' fire is hot"

Brokkrsten recites jovially:

"Luloo was in a terrible rush
Shovelled snow then fell on her tush
It isn't a joke -
Her ankle got broke
But the snow's now turned into slush! "

Zeormir recites:

"Snow is white, or blue, or grey
And falls at night, or in the day.
Snow is cold, this we all know
It's all so wet when melty, so
Stay where it's warm, and you'll be fine
Just make sure to have some wine."

Aglarim recites:

"Hate to feel the snow when it begins to blow
Your face begins to numb, and your brain goes dumb, and the icicle under your nose does grow!"

Lunacelest recites darkly:

"I am a dark elf
I take care of my self
Picking is what I know
in the piles of snow
I do it so fast the snow melts!"
>

Faulkil recites:

"I once knew a bard, who played in the snow.
Sometimes all night, till the dawns early glow.
But alas his snow days are past, and he limps in his cast
Since he met MR. Snow this weekend past."

Naimon recites:

"There high an' aloft with nae ifs an's or buts
Ah heard him quite clearly yell back, '"Snow Sucks!"'
But what he said next pulled me drolls from their ruts:
'"It's gonna take 'till mid-summer to thaw out me nuts!"'"

Syanic recites:

"Twenty five days in the ice and snow, that's where the judge said I must go
When he said that it made me quiver, "To IceMule?" I said with a shiver?"

Helman recites:

"Oh snow
oh snow
how i adore thee
i adore thee for thy whiteness
i do not adore thee for thy yellowness
oh snow
oh snow"

Ohleg recites deeply:

"Snow
you are cold"

Ohleg recites deeply:

"Even in your ice
the most beautiful of frost flowers can be found"

Ohleg recites deeply:

"Snow"

Ohleg deeply says, "That was my first poem."

>Syanic recites:

"Roses. daisies, stripes and paislies
My wardrobe tends towards the colorful crazies"

Areigha recites softly:

"Snow how cold you be"

Areigha recites softly:

"Don't eat the yellow though, it could be pee"

Areigha recites softly:

"It's fun to roll you around"

Areigha recites softly:

"And you make my feet look pretty on the ground"

Areigha recites softly:

"And thats all"

Terrant recites deeply:

"Snow be cold and and snow be free"

Terrant recites deeply:

"She gathered some snow..and then it hit me"

Terrant recites deeply:

"So head my warning and head it true"

Terrant recites deeply:

"Snow is cold...and i am through"
