Rone Academy - New Administration 08/11/2012 12:38 PM CDT
Rone Academy, named for Rone Wehnimer, was established for the sole purpose of promoting the lawful goals of the realms residents and the membership as determined to be of a mutual benefit. To promote learning throughout the lands, by attempting to train residents of Elanthia in the knowledge of the realm, so as not to be led astray by those who would corrupt for their own fortune and fame. To unite those who would help, heal and protect under a common name, for the purposes of showing charity to those less knowledgeable of the realms. To provide a support system capable of sustaining and training in the apprenticeship program of Rone Academy and realm professions. To dedicate time for the retelling of realm history, legends, and folklore of the many towns, cities, and outposts.

Over the past few months, appearances by Rone faculty and events on the behalf of the Academy have been few and far between. There are several explanations for the ghostly silence from the halls of the tremendous institution. The continual siege of Wehnimer's Landing led many of its faculty, staff and apprentices to take up arms. Academy personnel fought bravely against Drangell and the trolls, Grishom and the summoners, and Krentuk and the krolvin. All in the name of protecting Wehnimer's Landing from those we thought to do it harm.

Second, the Academy has undergone a change in leadership with a new eye toward recruitment of apprentices and faculty. Leadership that also wishes to make the Academy more accessible to the public, especially as our neighbor, the Wehnimer's Museum has undergone a tremendous transformation.

These upcoming Frontier Days, Rone Academy will mark a new track for its role in our beloved city. We will start with an official convocation on Niiman, the 23rd day of Phoenatos, in the year 5112 (August 23, 2012) at 8:00 PM elven time standard. During this convocation, Xanith will officially ascend as Regent of Rone Academy. We will also have a brief discussion of the trials & tribulations that Wehnimer's Landing has endured the past months and a look to the future.

The convocation will be conclude with a small series of raffles of three items from the personal vaults of our officers: one powerful, one cultural and one historic.

Over the next weeks and months, Rone Academy will become more active in the community of Wehnimer's Landing.

On the immediate horizon, the Dark Lord Stralan (self-appointed) has already been compelled to prepare a reluctant lecture on the dark arts, a lecture that will conclude with an uncommon demonic rune lesson or two to sorcerers that show a knack for his brand darkness.

We also want to continue a theme of raffling off various items of historical and cultural significance, so that they can be enjoyed by new generations of citizens instead of collecting dust in the faculty vaults, so expect these to be present at most Academy events.

However, none of this will be possible without the participation and desire from the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing and Elanthia. That said, Rone Academy is actively recruiting new faculty and apprentices. For those that are interested, please contact Xanith, Ardwen, Telsas, or Chanari whenever possible. (or email this play.net address).

Best,

Regent

There's a distinct possibility one of the lesser known LNN reporters, a wizard of ill-repute may seek to join the Academy faculty as long as other academy members do not find scantily clad faculty members a distraction. As of yet LNN reporters have yet to receive confirmation or denial from said hero.

PS - said wizard would have to contact one of the people in game as he would easily be linked with the LNN should email addresses be handed out. Hopefully he will run into Chanari (which in the past has made for some rather interesting interaction between the two) or one of the others. And congratulation Xanith, you'll rock as regent. - LNN
