I have 10 ranks in Armor Use, which seems according to the Wiki I should have no added RT from wearing Double Leather (Wiki says 6 ranks should take care of it).

But if I swing wearing Double Leather my RT is 5, whereas if I swing wearing Full Leather my RT is 4. Obviously same weapons, no encumberance, nothing different about the two swings aside from the armor.

Why?

10 ranks and not 10 skill, right?

That's the best I got.

Sweet is the sound of the pouring rain,
And the stream that falls from the hill to plain.
Better than rain or rippling brook,
Is a mug of beer inside this Took.

I'm not sure why, but I have a belief that it is 8 ranks for RT and 15 ranks to minimize hindrance - for a wizard. ;)

I suppose encumbrance might be a factor? But I also suspect that's been checked.

Ah, I think it may be that I hit my max RT reduction as Sylvankind. So the only way to reduce is to wear lighter armor. Having some elf envy right now. Thanks for the input.

Did you have the full leather in your container when you tested the double leather, and did you drop the double leather when you tested the full leather?

It is indeed 8 ranks for RT and 15 for spell hindrance. Also, I don't think race enters into it, unless your agi/dex stats are total garbage and you are swinging
a slow weapon like a claidh or lance. In any event, once you get Celerity spell and some air lore you will be fine. My half elf warmage swings a maul in 1 second.

"Oh, that's the projection of a hypothetical offspring from a union between Sauron and Cruella de Ville;
we use that as a baseline for determining character alignment."
