I may have asked this a time or two, but I'm a wee addled any more, so let me just do it again.
There are two books in Alanna's office: "A blood red eagle feather holds a page open in this tome, which bears the title "Accomplishments of the Empaths of River's Rest." Just beneath that tome is a thick volume clasped with what might be the flattened spout of a teapot. Its title reads, "Wizardry at Rest: Elemental Magic Between the Rivers."
The eagle feather and empath seems a clear reference to Slightley (a bird-brained lover of the blood eagle), but for the life of me I can't recall who the wizard who thought he was a teapot was. Not Vindartin, right? Or maybe??
