So you can rescue someone and get killed in town by the river you pulled them out of! See below.

You step off the dock, landing in the river with a splash!
[River's Rest, Tempest River - 17665]
The violent force of the current carries you forward, as the banks of the river swiftly pass by to the right and left. The cold river water surrounds you with floatsam in the form of leaves, twigs, and the occassional clumsy rolton. You also see a ruffled raven that is flying around.

You begin your musical chant for Traveler's Song...
Your spellsong is ready.
>sing
You sing a melody.
You sing a song of revelry, bringing to life the memories of such wonderous merrymaking that you feel as though you never left so long ago. Visions of the drink and the dance fill your mind. Your vision blurs, your surroundings shift and you suddenly realize you are not quite where you were before!

[Targon's Tavern, Tap Room - 10951]
Revelry seems to be the order of the day in this spacious room. Targon reigns at fireside, exchanging tales of heroism with his customers which border on the impossible, but no one seems to mind. As the tavern's back door opens to admit yet another hungry and thirsty traveler a barmaid makes her way to the bar, filling her tray with an order for the table in the corner. Behind the gleaming bar, a wizened dwarf bartender awaits his next order, polishing the bartop with a well-used rag while he waits. You also see a menu.

Sing Roundtime 3 Seconds.
>
You feel at full magical power again.
>drag kald
The banks of the river fly swiftly by as the fast current carries you down river, while objects in the water nearby pass dangerously close.
>
You are now automatically attempting to drag Kaldonis when you move.
>
The ghostly voice of Kaldonis says, "Nice shot."
>o
You grab Kaldonis's body and drag it out with you...

[River's Rest, Targon's Square - 10860]
This large, welcoming square is set away from the center of town and paved with large stone blocks. The crowds that gather here do not seem to crowd the openness of the square, but to make it feel warm and welcoming. Set off to one side, a small tavern seems to attract many in the crowd, and each time its doors open, sounds of revelry spill out into the open to attract even more. The River's Rest Inn stands nestled back in the brambles that guard the eastern side of the tavern. You also see a large wooden barrel and a cobblestone path leading to a well-tended orchard.

[River's Rest, Commons Circle - 10859]
Livelier than the other parts of this circular path, crowds come and go along the road to the east, where shouts of laughter and cries of recognition can be heard as people spy acquaintances amongst the crowd. Heavy in the air is the smell of wood smoke and roasting meat, tempting to those famished after an arduous hunt. You also see a larger modwir-trimmed shop, an elaborate cast-iron gate and a squalid canvas pavilion.

Stationary and slower moving objects fly by you as the current slings you downriver. Up ahead, you notice the river widens and on the left bank, a large stone structure overlooking the river. The ride in the river seems nearly over when you notice a swiftly growing shadow in the corner of the eye. You have only a moment to admire the craftsmanship of the boat as it slams into you, crushing the life from your body!
The misty halo fades from you.
The deep blue glow leaves you.
The light blue glow leaves you.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...

You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.

...departing in 16 mins...
DEAD>
A ruffled raven flies in.
DEAD>
The ghostly voice of Kaldonis says, "Oof."
DEAD>
The current of the river slows dramatically as it widens and enters the mouth of a large bay.
[Tempest River, North Fork - 11433]
A floating dock on the south bank creates a peaceful eddy between the river current pushing from the west and the current from the waves of Maelstrom Bay to the west. Despite the sunlight winking on the small whitecaps, the sandy bottom of the river is visible. High cliffs line the far bank. The river widens to the west as it moves into the mouth of Maelstrom Bay. To the east the current is too powerful and swift to swim against. The dock leads to the veranda of the Stone Eye Inn.

And here's the other perspective. I bugged this back in 2016. Note that if magical teleportation is disallowed, there is no way to get a corpse out of here, as the tempest river script passes over dead bodies.

You say, "Nice shot."

Sorry for thread necromancy, but actually I bugged this even 4 years ago. To be honest it has a really hilarious element, and mostly when I read this log I laugh a lot. It has some priceless element that defies belief.

Still, it doesn't make sense for an unseen boat to kill someone who is teleported away.

Thank you!

Something funny about people getting killed? Or only certain people? >:(

If this is not fixable, that is okay, but I do not think it is working as intended, even if a rare bug.

You all don't often speak with the Ferryman about his daughter, do you.

<Something funny about people getting killed?>

Um... you are aware this is the RR folder, right?

Launching each other out of catapults, tossing them off bridges, blasting them with lightning, and sucking them into voids is what we do for fun....

...oh yea, and Grandsome gets off on being killed by monkeys and bone golems!

Starchitin, the OG

A severed gnomish hand crawls in on its fingertips and makes a rude gesture before quickly decaying and rotting into dust. A gust of wind quickly scatters the dust.

Several reasons why I love the Rest so much (and super happy my rogue-ling can live there and still make a box-picking-living now, with the box-pool). :D

Yes, there may or may not be a CHE based in RR that kills its members (and guests) on a weekly basis:
