Word reached the Prince that local bards have been risking unpleasant death by dehydration due to the lack of easily accessible water on the Isle. Feeling that life on Teras is risky enough, he sent forth the local janitor/handyman to do some upgrades. Eldalina visited today and confirmed that the water is cool, fresh, delicious, and not poisoned!

OOC information:
The fountain at Dragonspine and Krodera has been updated to offer fresh drinking water! Simply DIP FOUNTAIN with an appropriate drinking vessel in your hand, and enjoy. Note that the souvenir glasses from this past summer's festival work quite nicely!

I don't read these forums regularly, but I did see a link from the play.net homepage. It was fun to interact with the "disgruntled" dwarven janitor while he was adjusting the spouts and whatnot. A couple of my favorite lines were the janitor seemingly intimidated by Leslieanna, "I have a work order!", and "Above my pay grade."
My cat was getting dental work done at the vet and I was fortunate enough to be logged in at the right time this morning, although I couldn't stay for the whole thing. Thanks for a fun encounter!
PS: all quotes are approximate as I didn't log anything.

Those are pretty close to verbatim! I'm glad you had a good time.

Can I just say that with the abundance of ale on the island there should be absolutely no reason for bards to risk dehydration in any way. Indeed there is ale a few stone throws to the west of the fountain, at prices that are more than fair. Admittedly, one of the ales does have an aftertaste akin to goats breath (I'd avoid the Araime ale unless you have a strong dwarven constitution); however they are available to quench the most voracious of thirsts! As a proud citizen of Kharam Dzu I do resent the suggestion that we dont take care of the wellbeing of our citizens and our visitors and wonder if this is more an indication of the weak constitution of some individuals, due to soft living, too much pampering or over-prolonged nursing by their mothers, perhaps into adolescence! Needless to say, anyone wishing a beverage stronger than water, need only ask me if they see me. I will always have a free supply of ale on hand, and will endeavour to ensure that a few containers of ale are located on the bench in town.
OOC: May take the opportunity to dust off my stove and make some tea and coffee in town, now we have a fresh supply of water (as long as the messaging is not too disruptive). Just need to source the logs. Good times.

Heavens, a fresh water supply and now the prospect of tea. Rohese may consider venturing to Teras for a brief visit again.

Question on the fountain's properties, the water appears cool, fresh, and delicious yes. However, after a minor failure with Traveler's Song (1020), my throat was parched. I drank two full flagons of the fountain water (14 drinks) with no apparent alleviation of the throat pain. In fact I ended up dying to this malady.
Is the fountain water supposed to alleviate minor 1020 failures or no? If so, please take a look at the fountain water. If not, well, now I know.
Thanks.

The water messaging at the fountain is just messaging, so no, it won't help 1020. However, as mentioned in a previous post, you can fill your refillable drinking container from the fountain and drink THAT water.
I know, it's weird. But one is simply colorful messaging, one is a script that creates water in a container.
