Two Announcements 04/23/2016 08:09 PM CDT
Guildmembers:

There are two upcoming meetings that I would like to make everyone aware of.

First:

Our next gathering will coincide with the mentoring of younger Warrior Mages, and will begin immediately following that session. The format for this gathering will be to introduce ourselves and share some personal history with everyone who's attended, so prepare to talk a bit about yourself.

(OOC:

Date/Time: Friday the 29th. Mentoring begins at 9pm EST with the introductions immediately following that. Expect around 10pm EST for that.
Location: Crossing Guildhall, Hall of History.)

Second:

I intend to host another session of Guild Questions and Theories in the coming weeks. We will meet again in front of Arhat's Tower to discuss any questions and theories proposed by our peers. If you do not have any studies of your own to present, I still suggest you make a showing because you just might learn something, or perhaps you'll find an area of interest you wish to delve into. It is also a good opportunity to meet with those who have similar magical interests.

(OOC: For those unfamiliar with this meeting type, I direct you here: http://forums.play.net/forums/DragonRealms/The%20Warrior%20Mages/Warrior%20Mages%20-%20Related%20Events/thread/1754173?get_newest=true

Date/Time: Friday, 20th of May. 9pm EST.
Location: Arhat's Tower, Crossing. From the Crossing's Northeast Gate go Southeast, East, East, and you will see the ruins of the tower.)

Re: Two Announcements (Log) 05/01/2016 05:59 PM CDT
Here is the log of the social that took place following Mazrian's teaching night:

[Warrior Mage Guild, Hall of History]
Thickly woven tapestries adorn the dull granite walls, each depicting something different. Iron sconces shaped like human hands, each holding a brightly lit gaethzen sphere, are affixed to the walls at regular intervals around the hall. A few mages read quietly in plush, high-backed chairs sitting atop the thick, bright red carpet.
You also see a brown turtle that is sitting, a stone seat, a bottle, a white guinea-pig that is sitting, a Sleek bear that is sitting, a flamewood table with several things on it, a stone seat, a stone seat, an ironwood table with a black leather-bound grimoire on it and a shiny silver plaque set above the archway leading west.
Also here: Balaraj who is sitting, Firestara who is sitting, Majestyka, Narror, Magmis who is sitting, Lightning Warden Aurayn who is sitting, Black Fox Xionara who is sitting, Kaluki who is sitting, Mistrya, Battlecaster Roseheart who is sitting, Field Surgeon Remedi who is sitting, Elomia who is sitting, Astute Mage Citrian who is sitting, Pyrious who is kneeling, Professor Andricus who is sitting, Atraxia who is sitting, Mentor Kaelie, Garrook who is sitting, Communications Officer Munchausen who has a stony visage, Familiar' Pet Rrana who is sitting and Mentor Mazrian.
Obvious exits: west.

You say, "Mazrian and I have been talking a bit over the last couple days about elemental manipulation and some of the benefits we can bring to others."

You say, "It occurred to me one evening that with the destruction of Ulf'hara Keep, the royal family is without a home and will likely need to build one."

You say, "As many of you know, our guildhalls are often crafted from Earth manipulation."

You say, "Stormwill Tower is an old example of this."

Pyrious ponders.

Rrana angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at you.

You say, "As some of you may not know, the Prince himself is a Warrior Mage."

Mazrian nods to you.

Xionara softly says, "I did not know that."

Xionara looks thoughtfully at you.

You say, "So we're looking to gather interest in this project, and submit the idea to the Seneschal."

Mazrian nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

Rrana nods to you.

Citrian nods to you.

Pyrious ponders.

You say, "We'd be helping to rebuild something here in the First Land, and show people we're more than destroyers."

Rrana says, "Oh, I like that."

Rrana makes a rumbling noise of contentment in your direction.

You say, "On top of that, the Prince himself is a guildbrother, trained on Andreshlew."

Citrian says, "I'm unsure how much I can add to this project, but going back to our ancient roots as shaman, protectors, and providers sounds like a noble goal."

You say, "I imagine any of you could be useful in the project."

Aurayn says to you, "I like the sounds of this."

Pyrious says, "Two strong arms."

You say, "These days we're taught to summon stone weaponry very early on."

Pyrious says, "I would like to help."

Mazrian nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

You say, "This project is an extension of that concept, but on a massive scale."

Narror says, "I'll supervise, I guess."

Garrook asks, "How are you expecting us to help exactly? What is this project?"

You say, "So we'd need several of us."

You say, "Ah, apologies, perhaps I wasn't clear."

You say, "We would be using Earth manipulation to help build a new Keep for the royal family."

You say, "Much in the same way it has been used to build some of our guildhalls."

Rrana says, "Ah. I don't know any earth spells yet."

Aurayn says, "Colaorative effort and energies."

Rrana' ears droop for a moment.

Firestara says, "Strange."

Garrook says, "Could get a couple bards to sing along while holding hands maybe."

Firestara asks, "Why are the gods so ambivalent about us using magic to build entire towns with, but hate on necromancy?"

Pyrious asks, "So, show up and contribute to the channeling?"

You say, "It' not so much about Earth spells, though I imagine that' helpful, as it is about aligning to Earth and learning to raise the stone, that is my opinion however."

Munchausen gazes appraisingly at Firestara.

Mazrian nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

Mazrian gazes thoughtfully at Firestara.

Rrana nods to you.

You say to Pyrious, "That may be putting it simply, but in effect."

Mazrian says, "Necromancy is a different ball of wax. It' a mixing of two mana types in a way that offends the Immortals."

Munchausen chortles softly at some secret joke.

Garrook says, "No thats sorcery."

Citrian says, "Not to mention that is dangerous."

Munchausen says, "Middling magic at best."

Munchausen says, "They are not even mages."

Firestara asks, "Necromancy?"

Pyrious shudders.

Mazrian says, "Sorcery is often a really bad idea, but not inherently offensive to the Immortals."

Rrana says, "Necromancers are trying to subvert the gods."

Mazrian nods to Rrana.

Xionara nods to Rrana.

Firestara asks, "Heard Necromancy came before elemental magic, so powerful in fact that it rivals the gods?"

Atraxia frowns.

Xionara scoffs.

Mazrian chuckles.

Mazrian says, "You hear a lot."

Munchausen asks, "Bah, are we here to discuss necromancy at the spurring of some charlaton?"

You say, "I know many of you have already mentioned interest, but we do intend to submit a list of names to the Seneschal to prove we're not joking around."

You say, "So if you do have interest, even if you've already mentioned it, go ahead and whisper to me and I'll gather it all."

You nod to Rrana.

Xionara softly says, "Necromancer magic is a pale echo of what the triquetra can accomplish. And the thirteen that others worship."

Pyrious says, "Yes. Put me down for a go."

You nod to Pyrious.

Rrana trills softly at Xionara.

Mazrian says to Firestara, "Elemental Magic is very, very old. The formalized magic that we study is a recent development, but it goes back thousands of years."

Citrian whispers, "I'd be honored to help."

Xionara nods at Mazrian, obviously agreeing with his views.

Mazrian says, "Necromancy...I don't know much of that history, truthfully."

You smile at Citrian.

Aurayn whispers, "I will help however I can Perune"

Rrana says, "So does Garrook' beard."

Pyrious says, "As old as death but the elments had to be here to form life."

Munchausen says, "Lifesculpting gone foul, nothing more."

Garrook says, "Goatee, I've trimmed it."

Mazrian nods to Pyrious.

Mazrian says, "I can say that none of the Necromancers I have known has ever come to a good end."

Xionara softly says, "I wouldn't say that one is older than the other. Magic exists, but must be tapped into."

Mazrian shakes his head.

Pyrious asks, "Lifesculpting...i heard rumors, is that real?"

Firestara says, "Hmm, didn't Lyras ascend to godhood? I'm curious about all this, I shall study it more in the library in Haven."

Xionara softly says to Mazrian, "It corrupts the soul."

Firestara studies the ground for a moment.

Xionara raises an eyebrow in Firestara' direction.

Rrana fixes Firestara with an intent, predatory stare.

Mazrian says, "Lyras was consumed by a demon then snuffed out."

Mazrian shakes his head.

Munchausen says to Firestara, "You'll be studying it in a ditch if you speak about it so openly."

Rrana lashes her tail.

Mazrian says, "I was there."

Mazrian gazes at Firestara.

Xionara softly says, "She is no god."

Rrana says, "She is the reason I became a war mage."

Mazrian quietly says, "Lyras decimated the five provinces, and ultimately all for nothing."

Rrana says, "To protect my people."

Xionara nods to Rrana.

You smile at Rrana.

Mazrian says, "I think that is a good cautionary tale about Necromancy."

Pyrious says, "I think we have moved from our subject."

Xionara softly says to Rrana, "Demrris is a warrior mage. It is a good path to take."

Xionara' ears stand up proudly for a moment.

Munchausen says, "As always I think our greatest asset is the myriad ways we dispatch enemies."

Mazrian nods to Pyrious.

Munchausen says, "Be it stink necromancers, goblins, elpazi or otherwise."

Mazrian says, "It is indeed a primary strength for us."

Firestara asks, "Muchausen I do not sense the elements within you? Are you one of us?"

Closing his eyes, Munchausen grunts briefly in effort as a small electrical ethereal fissure opens in front of him. Thrusting his hand through, Munchausen draws out an iridescent cobalt blue electric mallet. As Munchausen opens
his eyes, the fissure closes.

Munchausen fixes Firestara with a gruff, unwavering stare.

Munchausen says, "I admit. i'm the king necromancer of ain ghazal."

Munchausen focuses briefly before the electric mallet is ripped violently asunder.

Atraxia chortles softly at some secret joke.

Xionara softly says, "I have a duty and a responsibility to say I'd like to eat those ribs raw."

Mazrian says, "They're good, aren't they? We're bumping up on the hour. The formal event is done. I'm happy to sit and talk as long as people are here."

Aurayn chuckles at Xionara.

You ask Mazrian, "Want me to move into the second part?"

Mazrian nods to you.

Mazrian says, "Let's."

You say, "Alright then."

You say, "Since we've been having regular weekly meetings on these days, we've decided to combine it with Mazrian' teaching nights as well, since everyone is here anyways."

Mazrian nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

Narror asks, "When is that?"

Pyrious exclaims, "Oh, this is a weekly thing? New hangout!"

Xionara softly says, "Yes, we've been gathering every now and then, regularly."

You say, "We have been meeting weekly, yeah. The time is usually an hour later than this."

You say, "But we're not sure that' a perfect fit yet.”

Citrian asks, "When is the next one?"

You say, "A week from today."

You say, "I usually make an announcement."

Narror says, "I like it."

You say, "Just a heads up, Xionara and Saragos will be hosting the next few gatherings as I won't be in Crossing for a couple weeks."

Mazrian smiles.

You say, "But for tonight."

Xionara angles her ears forward in curiosity.

You say, "I figured since everyone is here, we could get to know each other a bit better and do a bit of a meet and greet."

Mazrian nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

You say, "That way, we learn something about one another."

You say, "I'll go first, but instead of talking about myself, I think I'll let Hanjora talk about me."

Xionara chuckles at you!

Atraxia says, "Hmm."

You sit down.

Atraxia asks, "Is that what you're calling it?"

Mazrian nods to you.

The sleek bear growls, "I've decided that name is acceptable."

You say, "Go ahead, Hanjora."

The Sleek bear growls, "As you wish."

Mazrian says, "Stay, if you can. After questions, there is fellowship. Getting to know your fellow mages."

Narror asks, "Intimately?"

Mazrian says, "....probably not."

Mazrian gazes at Narror.

Atraxia nods to Mazrian.

Atraxia glares at Narror.

Narror says, "People have been gazing at me.."

Munchausen says, "Probably."

Xionara begins chortling at Mazrian.

The Sleek bear growls, "My companion, Perune, is from an area of land you mortals refer to as Leth Deriel."

Firestara exclaims, "Talking bears are so adorable!"

Firestara preens. Someone' pleased with herself!

Mazrian chuckles.

Narror says, "They like being pointed at."

Rrana leans forward.

The Sleek bear growls, "One cannot tell by observing his unshaven face, but Perune was born to an Elven father and a Human mother."

Xionara softly says, "Adorable... is not the word I would use in one' presence."

Mazrian raises an eyebrow.

Xionara chuckles.

You mutter to yourself.

Mazrian says, "How unusual."

Pyrious says, "Indeed."

The Sleek bear growls, "His father is originally from the Forest Clan, and has returned to them since the fall of Lyras. They are not on the best of terms."

Mazrian nods to you.

The Sleek bear growls, "Perune' mother was a practicing Warrior Mage, who died during the war against that abomination. His father seems to believe Perune has made a poor choice by enlisting with you people."

Xionara raises an eyebrow.

You raise your hand.

Mazrian smiles at you.

You say, "To interrupt my friend for a moment."

Narror chortles softly at some secret joke.

You say, "My father is an odd ball who seems to believe that the world is on its way to an inevitable destruction and believes not learning to live off the land and fend without a civilization is a waste of my time."

You say, "And will not help me in this inevitable apocalypse he foresees."

Mazrian nods to you.

You say, "Go ahead, Hanjora."

Firestara says, "Perune I'm curious..."

You ask, "Yes?"

Firestara asks, "What would your father have liked you to become other then a Warmage?"

You say, "He wanted me to train under him as a Ranger."

Firestara says, "Ohhh."

Firestara says, "That won't do."

You say, "I agree, not for me."

Mazrian gazes thoughtfully at you.

You grin at Mazrian.

Firestara says, "Rangers have no future in this world I'm afraid."

Elomia coughs.

Atraxia sighs.

Aurayn raises an eyebrow in Firestara' direction.

Firestara hums to herself.

Elomia throws her head back and howls!

Rrana gazes at Firestara.

Xionara softly says, "I disagree with that statement."

The Sleek bear growls, "When asked about why he chose to disobey his father, Perune has spoken of his awe in the elemental magics his mother used to invoke, and the courage it took to face forces she knew she could not defeat."

Atraxia nods.

Mazrian nods to you.

Elomia nods.

Xionara softly says to you, "She must have had great courage, to face such odds."

The Sleek bear growls, "He has a firm believe that Warrior Mages embody a noble tradition and that they make the world a better place. He also likes spitting out what he calls "Fires of Legend"."

The Sleek bear growls, "I think he wishes he were a Dragon."

Xionara chortles softly at some secret joke.

Rrana rubs her head.

You mutter something into the air about your bear.

Kaelie chuckles.

You say, "Thank you, Hanjora."

You roll your eyes.

Kaelie says to you, "Your familiar is very familiar with you."

Narror chortles softly at some secret joke.

Xionara begins chortling at Kaelie.

Munchausen gives a slight nod.

Mazrian chuckles at Kaelie.

You say, "We spend a lot of time together training."

You say, "I wanted him to pick out as much personality as he could."

Mazrian chuckles.

Mazrian dryly says, "Backfires sometimes, doesn't it."

Xionara nods at Mazrian, obviously agreeing with his views.

You ask, "Did anyone have any questions for me, or are we ready to hear from someone else?"

Mazrian asks, "When did you join the guild, roughly?"

You say, "I think roughly 2 years ago now."

You ask, "So.. 417?"

Mazrian nods to you.

Mazrian asks, "May I ask, how old are you?"

Xionara gawks at Mazrian.

Rrana exclaims, "No!"

Xionara chuckles.

You say, "Admittedly, I did not do so after my mother died. My father spent a lot time spiriting me around and convincing me I should be a ranger with the Clan."

You say, "I am now 51."

Firestara asks, "When did you join the guild Mazrian?"

Mazrian ponders.

Mazrian asks, "I suppose I can go next?"

You say, "That'd be great."

Mazrian says, "I'm Mazrian Daemondred. My father was a moon mage, my mother an herbalist."

Mazrian ponders.

Mazrian says, "I left home to join the Warmage guild in...maybe 340."

Mazrian chuckles.

Mazrian sighs.

Andricus says to Mazrian, "Its hard to keep track of how long ago we joined admittedly."

Andricus chortles softly at some secret joke.

Xionara nods at Andricus, obviously agreeing with his views.

Mazrian nods to Andricus.

Mazrian says, "A long time ago, at any rate."

Mazrian says, "I've been Warmaging so long I can barely remember when I wasn't."

Kaelie grins at Mazrian.

Mazrian says, "Fought in every major war and skirmish to have occurred in the five provinces."

Mazrian says, "Been married three times."

Mazrian coughs.

Xionara raises an eyebrow in Mazrian' direction.

Xionara softly says, "Lucky number three."

Xionara grins at Kaelie.

Tarlof says, "You keep count? You've got my respect right there."

Xionara laughs at Tarlof.

You chuckle at Tarlof.

Xionara shakes her head.

Mazrian chuckles at Tarlof.

Citrian chuckles at Tarlof.

Mazrian says, "I have been a soldier, a mecenary, an outlaw, and a beggar, in my turn."

Mazrian says, "And now I'm a retired old family man who coaches siegery and mentors young Warmages."

Mazrian says, "That' me, unless anyone has any questions."

Mazrian smiles.

Xionara softly asks Mazrian, "When were you ever a beggar?"

Mazrian says, "Was banned in Therengia for 25 years, then pardoned."

Mazrian chuckles.

Xionara angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Mazrian.

Xionara chuckles.

You ask, "What' this about being an outlaw?"

Xionara softly says, "Therengia seems to ban many."

Mazrian says, "That' a good story, Xionara."

Mazrian nods to Xionara.

Xionara angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Mazrian.

Mazrian says to you, "In my day. It' a long story. Perhaps after we've all introduced ourselves I can tell it."

You nod to Mazrian.

Mazrian says, "There was a time I was more infamous than Fahijeck."

Mazrian chuckles.

Kaelie grins at Mazrian.

Andricus snickers.

Xionara softly says to Mazrian, "More infamous than Fahijeck, eh? That' a story I'd like to hear."

Xionara chortles softly at some secret joke.

Mazrian shrugs.

Mazrian says, "I'm not proud of it. I did terrible things, and I hope I have put that person behind me."

Elomia nods.

Kaelie says to Mazrian, "Think I'm going to head for home. Getting a little sleepy. I'll see you soon darling."

You ask Mazrian, "Did you want someone to talk for a bit?"

Mazrian nods to you.

Kaelie says, "Thanks for letting me crash your meeting all."

Kaelie waves.

You ask, "Anyone else want to introduce themselves a bit?"

Rrana says, "I will."

You say, "Doesn't have to be a mouthful."

You beam at Rrana!

Xionara angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Rrana.

Mazrian nods to Rrana.

Rrana stands up.

You say, "Go ahead."

Rrana dusts herself off.

Rrana clears her throat.

Rrana says, "My name is Rrana."

Mazrian smiles at Rrana.

Rrana says, "I became a war mage because of the things that happened to my people back in our homeland."

Mazrian nods to Rrana.

Rrana says, "My grandparents died getting my father out... and I grew up listening to stories of the horrors of Lyras."

Elomia frowns.

Rrana says, "Although I have not experienced anything that horrible myself, I will dedicate my life to making sure it doesn't happen again.

You smile.

Elomia nods.

Citrian nods.

Rrana says, "That' it. Oh! I'm fifteen."

Rrana nods.

Rrana smiles.

Rrana curtsies.
Rrana takes a seat.

Mazrian gazes thoughtfully at Rrana.

Rrana asks Mazrian, "Question?”

You say, "You've taken on a lot very young then, but you've joined the best guild in my opinion."

You hum to yourself.

Mazrian quietly says, "What are stories to you, I lived through."

Mazrian shakes his head.

Rrana nods to Mazrian.

Rrana says, "I understand that. I do not take it lightly."

Xionara smiles at Mazrian.

Mazrian says, "I know."

Mazrian says, "It' just painful to remember."

You say, "Too much death."

You frown.

Elomia frowns.

Rrana says, "Way to be a downer, Rrana."

Rrana' ears droop for a moment.

Mazrian chuckles.

Citrian coughs.

Mazrian leans over and scratches Rrana' back.

Xionara pats Rrana on the back.

Atraxia pats Rrana on the back.

You say, "It' not your fault. If anything, those events should be pushing us further as Warrior Mages."

Tarlof studies the faces around him.

Rrana nods to you.

You ask, "Does anyone else want to go next?”

Citrian says, "I suppose I can, since we're all being so forward about our troubled pasts."

You nod to Citrian.

Xionara angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Citrian.

Citrian says, "Well, I am Citrian, and I was born roughly twenty six years ago to what I'm slowly discovering was a very remote clan of Sand Elves."

Citrian says, "My parents, both barbarians, assumed I would follow them into the constant fighting of the clan, but I found myself enthralled by the spell scrolls we would infrequently find in raided caravans."

Citrian says, "Seeking something better, I ventured away from the clan, warning and hiding away with a caravan we were slated to raid the next morning. I eventually found my way here, to Crossing."

Elomia smiles at Citrian.

Citrian says, "Here, I've met many people, including Elomia."

Mazrian quietly says, "If you'd please excuse me. I must see to my wife."

Mazrian waves.

Mazrian quietly says, "Nice to meet you all."

Citrian says, "Though our paths have diverged, we've become quick friends."

Rrana asks, "Have you had contact with your clan since you left?"

Citrian says, "Not much, admittedly. They did not take too kindly to my leaving, I'm sure."

Rrana nods to Citrian.

Xionara angles her ears forward in curiosity.

Rrana says, "I can imagine.”

Rrana says, "Well, you're not the only displaced Sand Elf in Crossing."

Rrana smiles at Citrian.

You ask, "You mentioned paths diverging, how so?"

Elomia says, "I'm a ranger."

Citrian nods to Elomia.

Elomia says, "Citrian was nice enough to invite me."

You grin.

You say, "You're in good company, we have friends from all over who visit these meetings."

You say, "A good friend of mine is an Inquisitor, he's stopped by once or twice."

Citrian says, "If, ah, that is all, I will take my seat again..."

Rrana grins at Citrian.

Citrian bows.

Citrian says, "Thank you for your time."

You say to Citrian, "Thank you for speaking."

You ask, "Anyone else want to jump in?"

You glance at Xionara, a female Prydaen.

Xionara softly says, "I... suppose I can speak, though I can't promise it will be for very long."

Xionara softly says, "Tenemlor turned the Wheel and brought me back to this life some 45 years ago."

Xionara softly says, "I was born in the West."

Xionara softly says, "I can't remember much of my early life, up until the point that one of the Elders of my Hub recognized the affinity towards elemental magic that I had developed, and took me aside to train me."

Xionara softly says, "After a short time, he sent me on a quest to the East, to see what I could of the world, meet with Gauthus, perhaps learn a few spells I might not otherwise."

Xionara mutters something into the air about sleepingGauthus.

Xionara softly says, "It was after I'd come east that I started to hear rumors of the Lyras problem."

Xionara sighs.

Rrana frowns.

Xionara softly says, "I immediately headed towards home, but all I found waiting for me was scorched ground and the shattered corpses of my kin.. the ones who weren't raised to fight as enemies."

Xionara' ears droop for a moment.

Elomia frowns.

Rrana' ears droop for a moment.

Xionara softly says, "I wandered for a time, dejected and alone, and finally made my way back east."

Xionara softly says, "So the quest I was sent on to come to Zoluren was ultimately what saved me."

Rrana cocks her head to one side, giving a short "rrp?" at Xionara.

Xionara softly says, "But I sometimes regret it, wishing I could have fought as Mazrian did, against Lyras. But I hurried home, thinking there was something to save... and there was none."

Xionara softly says, "When I came back, it was already over."

Xionara softly says, "I did find my siblings before the return east, so we traveled together."

Xionara softly says, "I'm not sure why they were all spared."

Xionara softly says, "The trip back was.. well. I can speak about that some other time. It was not easy."

Elomia frowns.

Rrana says, "I am happy your kin were spared."

You nod in agreement.

Xionara softly says, "Now I try to fight evil where I can."

You say, "Many died in the battles facing Lyras, it may be for the best that you saved your kin and returned."

Xionara softly says, "And spend most of my time training so that when I do face evil, I am strong enough to withstand its lure, and destroy it utterly. Or, I can survive long enough to run."

You say to Xionara, "Thanks for sharing your tale."

You ask, "Tarlof, did you want to talk for a bit?"

Xionara smiles at you.

Tarlof says, "Not much for the stage im afraid."

You grin.

Xionara nods to Tarlof.

You ask Elomia, "I know you're not a Mage, but did you want to tell us about yourself?"

You say, "Since you are a guest tonight."

Elomia says, "Oh, I probably should introduce myself properly."

Citrian pats Elomia on the back.

You say, "It'd be ok if you didn't, but I thought you might want to since your friend did."

Elomia smiles at you.

Elomia says, "I grew up on a sheltered farm not far from here. With my many older siblings taking care of the farm work, I was able to spend most of my days in the wilds."

Elomia says, "I heard of the Rangers Guild from a traveller and decided to join."

Xionara angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at Elomia.

Elomia says, "I only arrived recently, and I still find the city quite intimidating. Luckily Citrian has helped me out a great deal."

Elomia says, "That' pretty much it. I look forward to learning more about the city and the guilds."

Elomia takes a seat.

You smile at Elomia.

You say, "A new area can be a bit much to tackle."

You say, "I'm glad one of our own has been helping out a new arrival."

Citrian nods.

You ask Elomia, "Does your family approve of your choice?"

Elomia says, "Yes, they were fine with it. One less mouth to feed on the farm, and I have the chance to make something of myself here."

Elomia says, "I write home occasionally."

Xionara softly says to Elomia, "It is good that you remember to keep in touch with them."

You say, "That' actually quite true, for some families, having their children join a guild is a great help to their burdens."

Xionara nods to you.

Elomia says, "I think it' important to remember where we come from."

You nod at Elomia, in complete agreement with her views.

You say, "Well, I won't give anyone the boot, but it is getting late, so those who want to stay and chat, are certainly more than welcome. I do thank you all for coming. For those interested in things I spoke about or other
gatherings.."

You say, "I do tend to make announcements on our board. Make sure to read them."

Citrian says, "Agreed. I have a few things to attend to. Nice to meet you all."

Elomia says, "Thank you, Perune."

Tarlof says, "Great meeting Perune."

You say, "Thanks Tarlof."

>You ask, "What' this about being an outlaw?"

Maz definitely has a bad boy background. He was one of our louder troublemakers back in the day. You wouldn't believe the situations that he would get himself into. You would have needed a flow chart to try to follow it all. Enormous fun to watch the chaos though.

I often tried to get him to take it down a notch, but to no avail. Still, we had some great conversations about our hopes for the future of the guild.

But don't take this as me ratting anyone out. The take away here should be that you shouldn't be afraid to go out and do things. You don't need to kick the hornet's nest like Maz did, but get out there and poke at things to see what happens. Go dig up some history, don't be afraid to ask some questions, take some silly risks, and explore this fabulous world we have to play in. And if you end up seeing the inside of some jail cells, burn a couple favors, or get scolded for what your doing... At least your out there having fun.

I hope at some point your schedule will permit you attend some of the meetings, Anabasis. It'd be great to have you there.
