I haven't had a chance to try out the pins yet, they seem really cool. I refused to believe (upon noticing them in the shop) that anything so long and pointy sold in a Thief shop was not either a wearable light edged stabbity weapon, or a lockpick.
What level is the shop? Assuming it opened, I don't seem to be able to enter in the entrance I'm thinking it is...but I received the "too young" message there when the guild first opened too.
There is a shop and a Grandmasters lounge, you are probably trying to get into the wrong area. Look about a bit more and you should find the shop, though I dont know the level limit for it.
