SLIP and inventory limits 07/08/2020 02:18 AM CDT
(Posting for a Thief)
We were experimenting with SLIP personal objects to another person's containers/hands. It seems like the inventory limit protection is very conservative. It failed unless the target was at an extremely low inventory count. Is this intentional? Could it be looked at and increased by 300?

I think it's lowest common denominator thing and set at a F2P appropriate level of inventory. I'm not sure how feasible it is for a targeted verb like that to check another player's account status and vary its behaviour based on it.

That would be strange considering it appears to be ~50 items higher than the F2P inventory cap and predates F2P altogether but you're the expert.

It's already done with several targeted verbs, and as FLINT-TIPPED noted, SLIP predates F2P. It is likely that it was updated for the release, but even if it was, a large item buffer like that seems a bit much.

On a similar note, there was new functionality added to GIVE and ACCEPT for inventory limits, and something similar but appropriate for SLIP would be a nice quality of life update.

I prefaced my two statements with "I think" and "I'm not sure" so I am definitely not positioning myself as an expert. According to this thread in the complaint folder it appears to be set at around 75 for F2P players. So maybe it's just twice that for non-F2P? There's also talk there that the verb was updated when F2P was released to accommodate their inventory restrictions, but doesn't say anything about what if anything happened to non-F2P inventory restrictions.
