Is there a work around for stealing and marking in this shop?

[Tiger Clan Home, Havor's Forge]
The smell of hot iron assails you as you enter the domain of Havor, the Gor'Tog blacksmith. A massive anvil and stone forge stand side by side on the hard dirt floor, and tools of the blacksmith's craft lay neatly arranged on a wooden bench. Several grinding wheels and a bin holding lengths of iron make up the rest of Havor's shop. You also see a display wall with some stuff on it, Havor Foehammer and a hardwood table with a soot-covered catalog on it.
Obvious exits: out.

A plain short sword is a light edged melee-ranged weapon.
The short sword is well suited for backstabbing.

You are certain that it could do:
fair puncture damage
low slice damage
poor impact damage

You are certain that the sword is reasonably balanced and is poorly suited to gaining extra attack power from your strength.

You are certain that the short sword is of average strength, and is in pristine condition.

The short sword is made with metal.
You have no clear idea how much the short sword weighs.
You are certain that the short sword is worth exactly 156 kronars.
You remain concealed by your surroundings, convinced that your appraisal of a plain short sword went unobserved.
Roundtime: 8 seconds.

The weapons for sale in this shop are on display on the wall and I can't mark them even though I can appraise them. And there doesn't seem to be any way to steal anything in here.
