Have to join a guild first? 04/08/2006 02:06 PM CDT

Trying to buy some clothes...and the lady at the stitchery says I should try joining a guild before spending the province's money. Now I paid back my debt, and got some money selling branches...but she still won't take it.

Just curious on how I can get rid of my patchwork stuff and get some clothes without having to join a guild.

Once you reach a total/composite of around 10-20 ranks in skills, you should be able to deal with the stores as a commoner/non-guilded character.

Did you give Mags enough branches that she no longer takes them from you? When I do that, although I tend to go for sticks instead of branches, my commoner characters typically have enough Foraging and Perception to be able to interact with the merchants.

Also, try making your purchases outside of Crossing. That's what I ended up doing with several commoner chars.

Once I got a few ranks, I was able to buy things with no problem.
