OK, I've finally got a little bit of spare time on my hands to flesh out the tanning database and complete the site. Originally, in the interests of maintaining accuracy, I had wanted to use only data that I had gathered myself. I have since realized that there's no possible way I could keep up with that, so I'm asking for all enterprising tanners to help fill out the database. Info that I'm looking for includes:

Skins
-How many pieces each different type of hide/skin yields. I'm only worrying about data from skins that can be made into armor, so skins/hides, not pelts/whatever.

Patterns
-How many pieces are required for each of the different patterns. I'm not, at this point, delving into the fluff patterns, only those for armor pieces

Completed Pieces
-Perfects only, from arranged skins. What pattern, what skin, certain appraisals, accurate weights. Any pattern, any skin. Messing around one day and make a perfect frog-skin aventail? I want the info! My ultimate goal is to have a comprehensive listing of ALL the different patterns in EVERY skin type available.

Misc Info
If you happen to remember the approximate ranks when you first started making perfect (some pattern) pieces, I'd love that info as well. Pretty much anything you care to share, I'll take. ;)

I don't tan often, but if there's any specific patterns you need tested by someone with 150 leather and 230 mech (or thereabouts) I'd be happy to grab some skins and play around.

You can do more then you realize. I've been doing tests for months, and have recently figured out (good for you to know too Lioness) that skinning plays a much larger role in stringing then I originally thought. I knew it was the primary factor in cutting, but didn't think it would be stringing too. And last I heard, you had me beat in skinning by at least 30 ranks. My fault for neglecting it (which will change now that I made it my secondary concern) (shield first).
